Playing with long exposures on the Pocket 3.

Its a shame the sea wasnt a little rougher to make some foreground white in the waves crashing.

Thats right,  they are groynes that are designed to stop the water pushing the sand too far.

It was fairly close to high tide.,  the little bridges let you navigate the groynes when the tide is in,  but they are quite unusual.

It really did flatten out the waves.  Quite a difference in the water depth on both sides of that barrier.  Appears it is doing its job.

Indeed,   I wish I had a tele zoom for it so I could have got closer to the steps.

Yes,  I was chatting to the coast guard there that came over to ask about the drone,   it fancied one and wanted to know how much fun it was .  He was telling me after the last storm that along the beach 10ft of sand was washed away,  previously the sea defence and the sand were the same level and the storm made that a 10 ft drop off.   He said the coast that doesn't have the groynes is quickly shifting south.

We see a lot of shifting of the sands here also.  Between the wind and the storms you just never how much it will shift.  

The other day while I was at the dive shop getting a new regulator I got an invite to go cave diving.  I quickly and politely declined.  I tried that once but I'm just to risk averse to do that again.  The spaces are too confined and you can get lost very easily and then run out of air.  No thank you.

Ive seen some cave diving on TV and it looks very tight,  not something Id be happy doing either.

The cave I went in had a couple of spots that were so tight you had to take the tanks off your back and pull them behind you or push them in front of you.  I'm not claustrophobic but there is just too much that can go wrong in those under water caves.

No,   thats going way too far,     and thats without thinking about the risk of some sort of collapse.

That's so true and in my one and only cave dive I did see a couple of small passages blocked off from where the ceiling had caved in.

It probably is better to play safe than sorry in this case. Glad to hear you know well enough to take care of yourself and not to take unnecessary risks Stay safe out there!
