On walk number 2 of the day to complete another stage of this months Apple watch challenge the heavens opened and we got a little bit wet,  after seeing the sky this morning i should have guessed that.

I just finished some chores in the garden,   I should probably split some more log rounds but Im not in the mood and the sky says rain is coming,  but after strimming and cutting the grass everything is nice and tidy looking,   and makes me feel like spring is closer than it probably is.

Yeah, a bit hard to get motivated for outdoor chores with the rain pending. It is nice to get a jump on sprucing up the yard a bit in anticipation of Spring.

Yes, even after the rain it's looking quite tidy,  although we dont have a yard,  Id need to be in Yorkshire for that.

Usually a yard like that it paved or concrete,  and really only serves as a place to store the bins. And if your up north the pigeon coup.

It's a yard by our definition of the word.   probably comes from the word courtyard.

So true.  I guess we sometimes call our lawns mistakenly by the term yards.

The true American definition of yard is as follows:   A yard is a flat area of concrete or stone that is next to a building and often has a wall around it.

Whereas lawn is ground around a house or in a garden or park that is covered with grass and is kept mowed.

Nope, I find AEB5 useless 99.9% of the time,   it's not a wide enough selection of exposures.

I wish they would let the difference be variable for sure, but still the first and last of the AEB-5 do help.

I dont find its worth the extra gb or more per flight for the extra shots.

So far I only use AEB, but I do wish they would include the flat profile for jpeg too. Just like with the Mavic Pro.

AEB with a custom start point exposure and raw is working for me,  AEB5 only seems to provide any benefit if you start exposure at 0 bias and then you have something like an inside room where you want to see outside the windows too.

I tried RAW, but so far I did not like the overhead it adds for my workflow.

You need a good tool like Lightroom to process them but it does allow you to get rid of the horrible chromatic aberration and theres so much more detail in the raw images.

Never heard of a flat jpg profile.  seems weird from a photography perspective,  but then the raws are flat to start with.

It's just the color profile they use when converting from raw to jpeg inside the drone.
The MP used the same profile for video and stills. So if you chose cinelike, it would be for both.
Which was great, because cinelike is nice and flat.
But it still has the lens correction etc. embedded, so no need for doing those in post.
And it is a lot less data to work with.
The Mini 3 Pro has a 'too contrasty / saturated' jpeg profile for my likings. The same as the Mini 2 has.
And no method of changing it.
Which is too bad.
Our DSLRs have this color profile too, I usually dial down the saturation, contrast and sharpening.

There’s darktable and rawtherapee which are both free raw editors, but Lightroom is also a huge cataloging tool which Ive not seen matched.

Photoshop and Lightroom here on the photography plan is less than the cost of 2 cups of coffee in a coffeeshop.

Even € 114,- per year adds up...
I'm against this model, so I'll try and keep away from that.
As long as it does not pay any bills, I'm not going to go that route.
If you have a couple of them, it adds up quickly.

I have enough recurring costs already.
Hobby should not add any to that.
