I have made a Remote ID Range test to see how you can be spotted using a free drone scanner app for Android in the Play Store. Remote identification, or RemoteID, from January 1st. 2024, it is mandatory in the EU for Drones like DJI Air 3, DJI Mavic 3 Classic, DJI Mavic 3 Pro, and all other DJI Drones to be operated in the open category in Europe under the New 2024 Drone rules

Should give plausible deniability to the people that disable that feature.

At 400' altitude, mine has lost connection at around 500' distance. Regardless of app used. So, not really worried about Karen.

Interesting. I have tested in an open area (Spain, EU) and I could get reception up to 600 meters away from me while being at 80 meters high!

However, in another area which had a bit more Wi-Fi interference, it stopped at around 200 meters. So the Remote ID signal is definitely no occusync, but still works further than I would expect.

Yeah the distance it transmits is not very far and even if it was 1,000 feet I doubt most of the drone haters would have a device which will even work with any of the apps. There are only a small percentage of devices which will work with any app due to the devices Bluetooth or WiFi capabilities. I have never worried about anyone seeing my drone or even care if they do. They would more than likely see it visually then with any app. Fly and enjoy.

A refinery on the Delaware River can see me flying 5-7 miles away with no issue.
