Another video from early last year for your perusal today, the wonderful Eilean Donan Castle...
I have heard that they have now banned drones from flying on all the areas that you can easily see the castle, and there is also the EGR610 Military Low Flying Zone to contend with, but when we flew here we were doing so outside of the EGR hours and from a place that had no 'No Drone' signage..

Thanks, it was blowing quite hard, hence the speed changes on the orbits, but it came out well...

Great place. When I was there they had no drones signs for opening hours (which I think is fairly reasonable and I'd apply that only for take off and flying above the castle itself...

That would have been cool, but meeting with friends on our way to Skye in October - they were at Eilean Donan waiting for us when we got stuck in a 3 hr road clock - they said all the signs said no drones full stop, even from up the hill at the viewpoint, which is a bit sad really... I will check it out in June for myself, still want to fly there and get some night or sunset footage..

Good luck. I doubt that they can legally stop you - don't think the whole surrounding land is private and theirs or their cronies'...

Cool... I will check that out in June this year, however in October 2023 I was told it was strictly NO DRONES...

One of my video's - of the Highland Folk Museum's 17th C village - somehow got linked to life in a modern Iranian mountain village, so my content was being promoted to those interested in that topic, and not o those interested in Scotland and the UK, so I was getting 1k views a day, all from the one video, and as the other video's promoted to my viewers were then not being watched they were then marked down by the allgorithm, hence needing to get them delinked and to restart builing some interest in my videos and restarting the algorithm with the topics that my video's focus on...

I really don't like how they changed the algorithm in the recent years. You get 'punished' waaaay too quickly for having a video that does not 'perform' well.
As if that means none of your videos will perform.
Too much focus on the short term if you ask me.
TBH, there is so much good content out there, that another drone-only video is not very likely to perform very well, unless you are either bringing something entertaining or something spectacular.
Especially since YT does probably not push your video, so you have to rely on external sites pushing your video (which is what happened to one of my drone videos that I uploaded recently).
I'm not sure how long people are watching your videos normally?

Yup, its all about the hustle and making money now for YT, some creators are making a fortune - not that I blame them, but the artistry is so often lacking in the overcommercialised content...

I normally got 200-600 views per video, more when it is something pecial, like the Skye footage showreel or the Callanish sunrise, and most of my video are watched at least 50% through, and about 50% of views watch all the video.

But when the logarithm got hijacked by that one video my click through rate was good, but the % watched and time watched was poor and none of my other video did as well as I thought...

I do want to add some narration, but need a decent mic first hence I am looking at the Pocket 3 creator kit, but it aint cheap...

But hey, what can I do.
Just enjoy the process I guess.
Maybe consider adding information using motion tracked texts. Not too much, but to keep things more interesting for viewers.
I noticed the videos that have this, do perform a bit better keeping people watching more.
