Hi

Today, it was the first time I did a very long video, skying.
The Osmo Action 4 didn't crash, but after a first file readeable, the 2nd file was invalid.
4k/50 - HB - first file is about 20 min.
Total duration should have been about 30 min.

Any Idea on configuration issue, or firmware issue ?

Thank you for the tip.
I will send that next week-end, when I will have access to a PC.
I just checked, and file is 4k/60 (not 50).
Firmware is 01.03.08.20

Hello, there. Thank you for reaching out. May I confirm if you test it with a different player? You may provide us with the file and we'll check it on our end. I hope to hear from you soon.

Now I have access to PC : I confirm it is not readable by other players. It tried multiple.
The file is quite big - not easy to send

Sorry to hear about this situation. May I confirm if you encounter an error message upon checking with other players? Also, have you tried to test to record again to see if the problem persists?

On every player I tried, I have the same "invalid format" message.
I checked the content of the video, it is full of 00 bytes.
Fortunately, it happened only once.

Thank you for your update. It's possible that the video might be corrupted and it's unable to play via multiple players.

I tried some "video fix tools".
All have the same results: video is full of 00 or FF bytes.
This means that the 9GB video is full of empty bytes.
Issue during the recording. Glad it happened only once.

Thank you for the update, Fr4p4d1ngu3. What microSD Card are you using with the Osmo Action 4?

Hello
Sorry for my late answer, I was quite busy past weeks.

I use sandisk extreme 128 GB.
I have 3 of them.

Thank you for the update. We recommend using the microSD cards below which passed the compatibility test with the Action 4. If the issue persists using one of the microSD cards below, please let us know.

I’m sorry but as I have pointed out earlier, this “recommended cards” nonsense is unacceptable. The Sandisk Extreme 128GB card is sold by DJI, and is in fact recommended in the DJI store for both OA3 and OA4.
https://forum.dji.com/forum.php? ... =308346&pid=3256556

The OA3 model is about 1.5 years old and the OA4 model came out about 6 months ago. I believe this timeframe gave DJI plenty of time to test whether the Sandisk Extreme 64/128 GB cards are compatible with these cameras or not. Yet, DJI has done NOTHING to address this issue. If these cards indeed not compatible with these cameras, DJI should remove them from the store and not selling them for these models. However, if the cards are indeed compatible with these cameras then DJI should update the recommended memory cards list.

By not addressing the issue you are clearly creating confusion for the customers. Someone who never had an action camera buys an OA3 or OA4 model and also orders a Sandisk 64/128 GB card with it, since these cards are recommended for the cameras in the store. If the camera will malfunction or will have issues with the footage/recording, whose fault will this be? Will DJI take responsibility and refund  the purchase price due to falsly advertising compatibility in the store? It can take way more than 2 weeks for a new user to realize the cards might not be compatible. And after 2 weeks DJI won’t even refund the price. I find that outrageous and DJI should address this issue asap.

I was just chatting sales support and they said they "can confirm these cards will work".

So apparently, DJI support and Sales Support have different information.

Yes some are using an obsolete list, making confusions in customers' mind.
