It all happened so fast! I was coming in to land when suddenly, out of nowhere this oystercatcher ( should keep to catching oysters) made a grab at my mini 2 (must have thought it was an errant arial oyster - generation X) sending it flying (as if it was not doing that already). Fortunately the drone was within line of sight and I saw it take a dive into a bush.
After a short but bloody (the bushes did not like the intrusion of my shins) search I found my mini 2 without a scratch and immediately (to test) launched. It was a tad dizzy but soon came back (it would have been bad if it was saved by the bush only to be off and drown in the sea) for a well behaved hand landing.
Tough little drone - finest kind!

Wow, that oystercatcher came up fast and went right after your Mini 2.  Good to hear the Mini 2 survived without a scratch.    Seems we can't say the same thing about your shins Droffarc.

Yep, it's a shin/sin and stings like sin too.

The viscious little so-an-so.  Glad the drone survived - even if your shins suffered in the process.

I naturally had some choice words to say to the BBbird.

That's definitely a tongue twister.

Now that was unlucky.  Ive had a few encounters with the oyster catchers but so far they only get close no touching.

I reckon this one had a sneaky streak and struck with luck.
It may even have had a headache the morning after.

Would have preferred a neck twister - oyster catchers are now off my list for birding.

I was having issues with the gulls flying over and using my boat and dock for target practice.  So I got me an owl shaped kite and that helped a bit.  I also got an air horn and used it often which also helped.  My last resort was to get out the shotgun but fortunately they seem to stay away now.  Last year I had a hawk that decided to claim a tree on my property which was okay until he started to come at my drones as they returned from flights.  He is no longer a threat.

I bet that hawk gave more than a squawk at the last report.

That's what f(sq)uawking feathers were designed to do - fly everywhere.

Except these flying feathers were not longer attached to the hawk.
