You did indeed,    the last 4-6 weeks the holes are getting very much worse and Ive not seen a single one repaired yet and very few marked.

I have a theory that the repairs are sub contracted to an external company and they dont repair them properly so that they get more repeat business.

I dunno. That sort of inefficiency should lead to loss of contract.

Not sure if its the same there,   when the council repaired the holes they would do all they could see in the immediate area, now they seem to only repair the one that is reported and leave the rest around it alone.

Yep. The ones that probably broke my spring have been filled in, but the road junction all around them is still peppered with lesser holes.

Better that than a wheel or tyre,   or at least for me.    Over £400 for the wheel and £270 for the tyre last time I checked.

Well, I had the puncture as well, but that was an unrelated incident, I suspect, as it wasn't the same wheel. Although it was on the same side of the car.

Just prior to retiring I won a large sum law suit against the County for not maintaining the roads in a safe condition.  They allowed a pot hole to get big enough to swallow the front tire of a lady's vehicle and it broke the front end suspension rendering it unsteerable and she ran into a parked car causing lots of damages and she was injured.  The County government tried to settle out of court but I had plenty of discovery material that I was sure I had a slam dunk case.  They jury found the evidence against the County to be overwhelming and made an extremely large settlement for my client.  Now the County government fills in holes as quickly as they find them or they are reported.

The "solution" here has been to abandon the development of the modern railway system to the north of England ( consigning us to another 50 years of decaying, pre-war rail network) and use some of the money to tackle potholes.
