Funny you mention that, I remember hearing that, in one of our universities of applied sciences, students were learning about planning and designing city layouts by playing one of those SimCity games

Unfortunately it's just efficient use of space due to love of money. It does look lie sims.

There isnt much vacant land left unless its unbuildable.

No doubt about that.  Which is one of the many reasons I'm holding on to my 150+ acres of land.  I've had some crazy high offers but I just want to keep it as is.  I know if I were to sell it the developers would come in and bulldoze down all the trees and commence building.  I'm going to keep it "green" for at least as long as I'm alive.

My kids might have other plans for after I'm gone but I love it the way it is.  I even had a large pond dug and installed a couple of deer feeders.  So far I've got deer, turkeys, more squirrels than you can count and of course an occasional alligator.

Is there a service that gits rid of them?

Is there a service that gits rid of them?

Under Florida law, it's a third-degree felony to intentionally kill, injure, possess or capture, or attempt to kill, injure, possess or capture an alligator or the eggs of an alligator.

However, the state of Florida has a Florida Nuisance Alligator Hotline where people can report nuisance alligators – and have a licensed trapper come out to remove the reptile.  An alligator is deemed a nuisance if it is at least 4 feet in length and the caller believes it poses a threat to people, pets or property.  This also includes alligators that end up in places you do not want them to be, such as in swimming pools, garages, or on the front porch.  Alligators that are smaller than four feet are not considered to be a nuisance alligator.

And I haven't tried that.

You'll have to give it a try next time you are in Florida or Louisiana.  When cooked right it is tender and is surprisingly healthy for you.  It's lean and low in calories and has lots of protein.  A typical rib eye steak 23 grams of protein where the equivalent amount of gator tail contains 46 grams of protein.

I've found that it is all about how it is cooked.  I had it once where I could barely cut it with a knife and sent it back.  I've also had it where it almost melts in your mouth.

That's sounds like an ideal menu.

I've got one more dive today and then got to go catch a plane and head back to Florida.  Dove on a late 1600s sunken Spanish galleon yesterday.  I was amazed to see so much of it was still intact.

The etoufe I had in Louisiana was stewed so it was tender.

You have to watch those flights after deep dives.

No doubt it was savory tasting.  I'm afraid if I lived in Louisiana I'd gain a hundred pounds eating all the good food there.

That's true.  It is a shallow dive today and I have a 3 hour wait before I fly so I should be okay.  The flight is only 45-50 minutes and at a fairly low altitude as it is an island hopper prop plane.

They say New York is the city that never sleeps but New Orleans must run a close second, especially the French Quarter section of town.  I was there for Mardi Gras about 4 years ago and I'm still amazed at how well the city recoveries from all those festivities.
