The time and tide bell.....

On a recent trip to see the bell I found the cliff had collapsed and the paths down to it were inaccessible.   The coast guard stopped by for a chat about the drone.  He loved it,   wanted to know if it was as much fun as it looked.

Yes, very subtle -at least with the wind hitting the microphone. But I guess the residents in the vicinity will prefer subtlety...

I believe that, in rough weather, it's much louder.
I had to move from there quickly, as the waves were starting to wash over my boots

For obvious reasons, I couldn't use the external mic for the pocket 2 - I'd have had to wade out to the bell, and at that point I would have been about waist deep

No problem.  From the looks of that video you were already super close to the water.  The time and tide bell is a pretty neat concept and I'm betting the neighbor appreciated that it doesn't clang loudly all night long.

The one we saw is being moved by the tide when storm weather hits which would no doubt wreck the idea.
