Remarkable capture DA.    One of the taller churches I've seen.  Interesting how far inland the lighthouse is.  

Very nice. Bell tower, lighthouse and the sea with a cool sky.

The light house is on top of the cliff and its being eroded at a fast rate so its a good job its that far back.

Good planning and also makes the lighthouse more visible from a further distance.  I guess with GPS mariners don't depend as much on lighthouses as they did years ago.  Although I've experienced some really foggy days exiting port where it made your butt pucker even with top notch navigation gear working.

Theres lots of sand banks out there that this one is warning about,  but like you im pretty sure most people have depth devices and gps.

No doubt they still serve a purpose, maybe not as important as they were decades ago but still a safety factor.

I was amazed about how much it costs to paint one,   they used specialist paint that was donated,  so just the labour to paint it was £20K

Wow, that does sound a bit excessive.  I'm guessing there is a lot of pre-paint prep work that increases the time it takes to do the job.

No problem as I was just a bit curious.  Speaking of prices, the cost of a dozen eggs just doubled.  Will be interesting to see what the news has to say caused that rise in prices.

Theres been a sign above the eggs here for months explaining they have a problem with supply,  but they rarely have a problem.   Im guessing your price increase is the usual bird flu outbreaks we get this time of year.

Seems you were spot on.  News reported more than 83 million birds have been affected in the U.S. due to the outbreak this year of the Avian Flu.

We had a small outbreak here before Christmas but it didnt get too far and not bad enough for them to put up signs in the nature reserves this time.

At least the numbers have declined appreciably from the huge outbreak in January 2023.

Last time we had one here people were supposed to move their birds indoors but the amount of places we saw that didnt do it was shocking,   Im not sure whats so hard for people to follow the health guidelines.
