Since the latest update it's now not possivle to change from photos to video if you're in the air.

Why???

Yes it is possible. If you are recording video you need to stop the video recording and then switch to photo. I can do this in the air.

"The photo format" - I believe this refers to switching from J, R, J+R, possibly even the aspect ratio. You can still shoot videos and photos in flight, as long as you're not trying to take a photo while the system is recording a video.

The first flight after I upgraded the firmware I noticed it had defaulted to taking stills. I couldn't change it to video until I had landed it.

Is this with the Inspire or a Phantom 3 Pro/Adv? I flew both over the weekend with the latest firmware installed and did not encounter this lockout.

I'd venture a guess that you already know that you can't shoot stills while a video is being recorded. Could you do a quick video - get the bird fired up and in the air, then shoot a 30s video, stop the video, flip the toggle to photo and take a photo.

That should help with diagnostics

It's odd, since it happened I've been in video mode only.
Sunday I tried to change it and it worked.
Most odd.
