Drenagh Farms getting the grass growing as it comes out of the winter period with some digestate. Grass is grown for both the dairy cattle and the farms on site digester. Carting to the outlying ground with a mix of tankers to the Herron H2 setup as a nurse tank and the New Holland T7.200 on the doda pump. Joe in the Case 175 CVX with the 900s and 710s and I do admit the White wheels really do suit her. Applying the digesate with the 12 metre AgQuip Dribble bar

I had never seen anything like that with the hose before you showed it last week. Looks rather disgusting ;-)

So this is a dairy farm and digester on the same site... cattle poop and grass are fed into the digester to produce electricity that is used on farm for the dairy and the cattle with any excess sold to the grid

Digesters for methane production on a relatively small scale were just beginning to evolve in the Mayenne (France) while we were living there. The first one we saw was in about 2017 between Fougerolles du Plessis and Landivy. There are probably more by now.

yea think in france average size was 30/40 kw which was enough to power the farm and the localish area

Yes, that particular one took slurry and excess silage from the immediate vicinity to convert to methane. I'm guessing ( since we left before it was fully onstream) that it then produced enough electrical current for those surrounding small farms.  On the other side of the village they put in a large solar panel farm for the same purpose.

I'm in favour of renewable energy, but as you say, solar farms are acreage-hungry.
The one you see in my image, the grass is kept short by a small flock of sheep penned into the enclosure.

The sheep can wander easily under the panels, whereas a mower may struggle to get.
