I need to start pulling my finger out and getting out early again.   Ive been trying to take it a bit easier lately.     Todays looking promising out there but will be a wash out,   Ive got a carpet to vax and then a car to go and collect.  Depending on the time I may meet a friend for coffee.

It's our coffee morning today, too. The weather has certainly deteriorated since this morning's lovely dawn.

I was just in time. After that, it clouded over by 09h00 and we're seeing the first specs of wind-blown rain, with a forecast of possible snow later.

It was quite striking. I had to get out there quickly to get the Mini3Pro aloft.  By 09h00 we had 100% cloud cover and approaching rain. Promise of snow on the forecast, but unlikely to make much impression here.

An experienced Navy weather guesser once told me that In mid-latitude regions, storms and rains usually move from west to east. A reddish sky around sunrise means a lot of water vapor already present in the atmosphere. As clouds come in from the west, rainy weather is thus expected. He said this explains why the saying "red sky in the morning, sailors take warning" exists.  I guess it does apply to shepherds also.
