Hello
I hope I didn't overlook something in the manual, but...
Whatever the mode switch position - on startup - is on the RC2, the controller always says 'N mode'.
To actually switch to the desired mode, one has to turn the switch to N, then switch to C or S mode.
IMHO it could be essential to mark this in the manual and/or change the Fly App software so that the mode indicated on the screen matches the position of the switch.
Neither in the many YouTube tutorials is this mentioned.

Kind regards.

This was already discussed in the Mini 3 Pro forum a few months ago. It can be seen as a safety feature that the drone always starts in normal mode - neither too fast nor too slow in the reactions right after start.

Thx for your answer and it makes sense.
Even so, it should at least be mentioned in the manual (p.48) and possibly on the controller screen.
Another 'flaw' in the manual is to warn the operator that the Status Indicator Lights will stop blinking once video recording starts (p49).

I agree. Maybe DJI thinks that no one reads the manual in that detail ;)

You might find that this ' N mode regardless of the actual switch position' applies to ONLY the first launch in each drone switch on, i.e. land, stop the motors, then restart the motors and launch WITHOUT switching the drone off and the drone will take off in whatever flight mode the switch is set at.

The flight status is always indicated on the top left of the controller screen, regardless of whether the physical switch is say, left in sport mode after landing and power down. When you power up, it will show N mode. Once in the air if you move the switch to normal and then either cinema or sport, the switch will function normally until after you power down.
Also tapping on the In Flight just to the right of N Mode is a quick way to check and alter your max return to home altitude for your current location.

Hi there. Thank you for reaching out. It is normal that the aircraft will take off in Normal mode. Try to hover 15 meters or above then switch modes. We will also gather this request of yours and will forward it to our relevant team for future consideration. Should you have other inquiries or concerns, feel free to contact us. Have a good one!
