Thanks, I didn't go far from where I took off due to the weather.

No sense going too far with rain pending and also when you already had a pleasing shot framed.

Sometimes the shots just look better when you get them downloaded vice what you saw on the controller screen or attached smartphone.  Plus, you can always manipulate them a bit while editing.

You know I keep all three indicators for center, rule of thirds and the cross marks and I still don't always get the shot lined up properly.

I hear you.  I just normally use the rule of thirds and sometimes don't even get that right.  I just keep telling myself I'm just a rookie and I'll get better.

I try to use it mostly as a "guide" but not a be all or nothing thing..

I keep all three guides on the displace. I use the center x for landing. on my landing pad. The rule of thirds for  composition or for keeping things towards center. Both of them are helpful.
