Weather is starting out really nice today so I'm going to get out the BBQ grill and cook up some meat I've had marinating for the last 24 hours.

Thanks Charles.  Meat turned out very flavorful.  I think marinating for 24 hours allowed it to soak up plenty of flavor.

It certainly was more tender.  I don't like to keep leftovers so I only made enough for my one serving.  Looking back this was one time I should have made a double portion.

I will.  Living alone I prefer to cook outdoors anyway.  I've got some elk meat marinating that I'll try out next.

You got that exactly right.  I have a small, portable grill for use on the stern of the boat and a nice Grilla Grills Silverbac wood pellet smoker just off the edge of the dock.  I do a lot of meat smoking so I checked out several brands and found Grilla Grills to be the best and also have a really good warranty.

Another method to get some great flavor into the meat.  Especially works great when you use hickory,mesquite, apple or pecan wood pellets.  Sometimes I'll mix up a combo of those and then smoke the meat for hours.  Good thing I don't have any neighbors close by or the savory aroma would drive them crazy.

Nothing like a slow smoke. I don't have a smoker but my neighbor does.

If I'm in a hurry I'll fire up the mini BBQ but I really prefer smoking meat.  During Covid I smoke a turkey for Thanksgiving.  It was a 20 pound turkey and I smoked it for 10 hours.  The meat was tender and just fell right off the bone.

I have a friend up in Montana that sends me elk about once a quarter.  I reciprocate by sending him a variety of seafood.  So far using dry ice in the packing has kept all the food from spoiling going both directions.

Nice trade. Keeps you with some variety. Now you need some chicago or texas trade for some prime beef and you're all set

I just picked up an extra freezer we went on a high protein organic, grass fed diet. We need to pick up the sales and store it because the meat is very expensive

Ahh, soon to be empty nesters.    I have limited space on my boat but I have plenty of room in my combo storage/garage building.  I have 3 solar panels on the roof and want to use that as a back up in case I lose power and don't want to lose the food in the freezer.  So I'm looking for a stand up freezer to make it easier to find things in the freezer instead of a chest style freezer.

I found the one I want to get and bought it yesterday.   They are delivering it on Friday.  Now just have to rearrange a few items in the place where I want to put it.  Next - start looking for some meat sales. I've got a lead on where I can get a side of beef from but I'm not sure if I want to go that route yet.
