Constructed in 1813 and erected to cross the Goyt river,  providing  acess into the Brabyns estate.
Now a country park amenity in Cheshire, England.
Restored and repaired in 2010, it is now a Grade II listed structure.

It's been restored to perfect condition. Pretty good for 210 years old

2010 was the restoration - but it may have been repainted since, of course.

Thanks Charles. Crossed it yesterday during a country walk.  It's the oldest one surviving in this part of the world. Not bad at 210+

The deal with restoration is you have to have "good bones" to start with and no doubt that iron bridge had good bones.  I love the ornate details and it just looks so "fresh".

It may have been repainted more recently, I've no information on that. But it does look "good as new"

It certainly does look good as new.  A fresh coat of paint does help but the overall condition of the bridge just looks like is in mint condition, especially considering how old it is.

That is a beautifully-maintained bridge indeed! Wish people would take similar care to many other things as well. Good shots as well

Absolutely true. Related to that, I dislike how some forms of culture are rated "lower" than other in general opinion, claiming they are less valuable than others. That is probably one factor in deciding what kind of heritage gets more protection and what gets less. I think equal treatment would be essential in here as well.

It's often a case of available funding - and who decides where and when they're going to be spent.
