I would like to know if my theory is sound that using a 3d printed mount that holds a ipad mini 4 tablet above the RC controller antennas would negatively impact the RF signal between the remote control and the drone due to the metal backing of the tablet being very close to the remote controller antennas, thus interfering with the RF propagation. See images below:

If my theory is correct, I should use something like maybe a mavmount that bring the tablet up and away from the antennas like this shown below which would leave more room for the anetenna RF to work properly?

Hi, belzo. Thank you for reaching out. Have you tried flying using just a mobile phone? If yes, and if there's a huge difference in the Signal strength, it might be the issue. But if using a mobile phone will provide you with the same signal strength then it could not be the issue as the distance of image transmission is closely associated with various factors in the current environment, including the interference of Wi-Fi signals, signal transmitting power, relative direction and location of signal reception, obstructions, etc. You may try the troubleshooting steps below:

1. Check the aircraft image transmission distance in your country.
2. Check if the aircraft firmware, remote controller firmware, and app versions are the latest. If not, please update the firmware to the latest versions first.
3. Check the remote controller antenna position. Please place your remote controller antenna in the optimal position.

4. Keep note of tree and house obstructions near the flying field. After flying for a period, note the obstruction near the horizontal line to ensure that there are no visible obstructions in the aircraft's direction.
5. Check whether there is significant interference in the flight environment. Please turn on the Image Transmission Settings to check the real-time channel quality. Or provide a screenshot or a recorded video for us to see significant interference. If the interference is significant, we recommend changing the flight environment. Common electromagnetic interference sources include but are not limited to Wi-Fi hotspots, routers, Bluetooth devices, high-voltage power lines, high-voltage transmission stations, mobile phone base stations, and television broadcasting towers.

If the issue persists after following the steps above, kindly provide us a video of the operation together with the screenshot of the About page showing the RC firmware, Aircraft firmware, and App version. Thank you for your kind understanding and valued support.

In addition, you may also try the DJI RC-N1 Remote Controller Tablet Holder: https://store.dji.com/ca/product ... t-holder?vid=90933.

I do not have a phone to test for this unfortunately. Can you explain the " Image Transmission settings to show real time channel quality "? Remote and drone are fully updated to newest firmware. Thank you

Hi there. What do you mean by real-time channel quality?
