Paid Shoot - Can't figure out why. 20 Pics for $100.00 weekly but nothing happening.

Whaddaya mean? You're hired to take this picture 20 times a week and get 100 bucks? Or you took it and 20 people download it per week for 100 bucks?

Surveillance, perhaps?

I think it depends on what they are growing.  

Could be to see what they are growing in all those pots.

This company hired me to do one shoot of this property. It was a fictitious address that doesn't exist. I call the owner and he explains where the property is located.  I shoot it. He calls me after the shoot and tells me he would like to hire me separately which I said I couldn't do. I tell the company and they said, don't worry about it. If he is unhappy, we don't want to hold him. I ask him what he wants. He wanted to pay me triple what it was worth and pay an associate half. I said no because that's a payment scam.  A month later the company hires me to do 4 weekly shoots to monitor construction progress but nothing is going on.Why would anyone want to pay for monitoring of this?

It seems to be a scam they are working on Drone pilots. It' not the first time someone contacted me with a ficticious address and asked me to fly it for thousands of dollars. Then they ask you to pay one of their associates.  with part of the over payment. They give you a stolen card you pay them with your good card and the credit card company pulls the money back and you get beat.

No doubt that is a lousy scam.  Sad that people feel compelled to do scams like that.

The last one that came to me had an address in class B airspace near la guardia. I actually went out there to scope it out. I filed FAA Authorization. Set up mapping plans and then he tells me he wants to over pay me and I should pay hs associate. I was so angry if I could have found him I would have killed him.

I'm told people in NY have disappeared without further trace for a lot less of a reason.

These guys are slippery. They don't live here so how do you find them. If they could be found they would probably be gone very quickly.

That doesn't surprise me as so many scams originate in Nigeria.  Several have been caught and were extradited and now serving years in federal prisons.

Just depends on the country they are in as many have non-extradition laws with the US.

The world is so global I don't know why they don't have a global fraud group to go after these hackers and fraudsters.

At one time that was the job of INTERPOL.  I guess having only 196 member countries they can't police the entire world.  Some of these scammers don't deserve to be locked up, one bullet is so much cheaper and a lot more humane than locking them up like animals.  Much cheaper on the taxpayers also.
