Hi,

I'm trying to understand the difference between RockSteady and Steady stabilization apart from the obvious crop Steady gives. Do Rocksteady require higher shutter speed than Steady does?

Hi there. Thank you for reaching out. Kindly please check the information below regarding the Steady and Rocksteady feature on your DJI Action 2:

Steady: The FOV is greater, and the camera consumes more power compared to the RockSteady mode. Videos can be recorded at a higher resolution. To record videos at a higher resolution for a longer period of time, it is recommended to use Steady mode.

The maximum video resolution is 4K/60 fps. The default Steady mode is applicable to most scenarios.

Supported resolution: 1080P24/25/30/48/50/60
2.7K(16:9)24/25/30/48/50/60
4K(16:9)24/25/30/48/50/60

RockSteady: In this mode, the camera operates with lower power consumption and can take longer videos in a high-temperature environment.

Supported resolution: 1080p Power Reserve mode 24/25/30/48/50/60 fps

1080P24/25/30/48/50/60/100/120/200/240
2.7K(16:9)24/25/30/48/50/60/100/120
2.7K(4:3)24/25/30/48/50/60
4K(16:9)24/25/30/48/50/60/100/120
4K(4:3)24/25/30/48/50/60

The maximum video resolution is 4K/120 fps. More computing resources will feed into the processor to produce more stable videos with a greater angle of view.
