I only had clearance to 100 feet. I couldn't get the whole thing in view from over a block away..

With an altitude limit in place it does make getting some shots and footage much harder.

I don't know. Many of these commercial shoots that are given to pilots are not the best assignments. They want mapping at lower altitudes than are comfortable or higher altitudes than are allowed in restricted airspace. They are always within 48 hours. It does add stress, but it's paying for the drone.

Yeah that really puts you in a tight deadline situation as well as stressful.

I once dove near some water exhaust pipes and saw some oddly deformed fish.  After the dive I googled to location and found out I was near a nuclear power plant.  Strange that there were no signs posted anywhere near the outlet.  There is now because somebody complained and they promptly erected several signs.

They certainly did.  There had to be some toxicity being discharged as otherwise what else would have deformed all the marine life nearby.

I have my suspicions that some of it gets hauled out and dumped into the sea.  Just off shore at Charleston, SC I found a dozen sealed 55 gallon drums while scuba diving there. There were no markings on the drums and they were painted black.

I've heard stories were large chemical companies have dumped in areas that they thought would never be used and local politicians have proposed using these areas as kids parks thinking that people forgot what was dumped there 50 years ago.

I knew there were a lot of toxic sites but never thought it would be over 1300 of them.  No doubt many more exist that haven't been identified as superfund sites.

I would say at least twice that. So many legal dumping grounds where things were dumped in the dark of night.

I can tell you that on ship we had very strict rules about what happened to waste.  Years back you'd not believe what went over the side of a ship but that has all changed.  

I remember one cruise where we had a Russian trawler (spy ship was shat it really was) following behind us trying to pick up any trash that went over the side so they could try and glean any intelligence from it.  I remember a few times that we baited them with false info and they bought it as real.  So much for the cat and mouse game that used to get played.

Thanks Charles.  Seafood broil turned out great.  Unfortunately, I think I made a little too much.  I hate leftovers so I gorged myself and ate it all.  Definitely needed a nap after that.

We had Prime Rib and Lamb. The Mavic 3 E did a 45 minute map in 10 minutes and it came out great. N o hassles.  I guess that's why you pay what you pay.

Very true.  Quality products normally do cost more.  Hopefully, the M3E will pay for itself before a long period of time.  Do you get a lot of mapping jobs?

It seems like they are growing. I'm getting 5 or 6 per month. I have to say that once I put it in my portfolio the calls are lining up.

That's great.  No doubt word of mouth and referrals following successful jobs will get around and help increase jobs also.
