I just got my Inspire and need to do the updates. I saw that I can get the Inspire 1 update
Inspire 1 Firmware v1.4.0.10but where is the RC firmware update?
I saw this------The All-in-One firmware v1.4.0.10 does not include remote controller update package. However, for the best user experience, it is recommended that the users who are using the firmware that older than v1.3.0.00 to update the firmware to v1.3.0.00 before updating the aircraft.

Does this refer to the RC?
Thanks for the help I'm just trying to not screw it up.

Also os the yellow led on the tail supposed to be flashing non-stop during the update?

Also it's brand new, can I go right to the latest firmware or do I need to install all of them from oldest to newest?

yes, RC = remote controller.  connect to it and look in the settings of the pilot app and you can see what firmware version you currently have installed. if its v 1.3.0.00 then you can update to 1.4 and not worry about the rc, if its lower version than that youre gonna want to update to 1.3.0.00 first, update the RC and then update to 1.4.

yes, its always flashing, yellow indicates no gps signal, green indicates gps signal and it goes red when the battery percent is lower than your alarm percent set in the app.  I dont believe the light color has any indication of anything firmware update related, only the camera beeps indicate whats going on during this process from what it says in the documentation.

Thanks for everyone's help as well as Marionville Multirotors YouTube vid about updating the firmware. I had to update to 3 on both the RC and the Inspire the to 4 on the Inspire. All good now.

What happens if you missed the Firmware Update 1.3 and just go straight to upgrading to 1.4?

Nothing really. I think worst case scenario it just takes a little longer.

It wouldn't make the DDDD sound. It made some sounds, camera spun a few times, stared straight ahead then the yellow tail light came on and wouldn't go off. After an hour I shut it down.

I also first had to install 1.3 on the RC.

Dji recommends in highlighted red text to upgrade to 1.3 first I would not risk my I1 and not upgrade to 1.3 first the 1.3 upgrades esc and fc entire rewrite. I would not risk a crash or a send in to dji

Hi
If you are not a seasoned flyer of quads I would suggest you get a hubsan h4 abd learn to fly it proficiently before putting a several pound 3K I1 in the air/

Are you referring your comment to me? Thank you for the tip but I know what I'm doing when it comes to flying and filming =) My question was a technical one regarding firmware updates not my ability to fly a multi-rotor.

Well on one battery I skipped doing 1.3 and installed 1.4. It installed successfully. I went back and installed 1.3 afterwards, again successfully. I then tried to install 1.4 again on that same battery and nothing took. App says everything is current so I'm good I'm assuming.
