What’s New?

• Added subject distance measured by LiDAR display on the hand unit.
• Added support for deleting lens profile in the hand unit menu. When the motor stores incorrect lens profile causing the hand unit unable to control the full range of the lens, normal control can be achieved by deleting the lens profile.
• Added endpoint protection settings to the hand unit menu. When using lenses with infinity position as the endpoint (such as Zeiss CP/UP/MP), endpoint protection can be disabled in the menu for controlling the lens to the endpoint.
  

Notes

• Make sure that the DJI Ronin app is the latest version when updating the firmware.

rs4 pro vertical is horrible, you can't even balance the canon R3 on it bc there isn't enough horizontal arm to push to the right.. the base plate sits too far from the vertical arm..big fail

Hello! Do you expect DJi Focus Pro to work with Fujifilm cameras? I have XH2S and the compatibility list is missing my camera though the rest of new line works with it. It doesn't seem to me that it cannot actually work with my camera. Do you plan to adjust compatibility list?

What about support of focus via bluetooth on BMPCC6k with Sigma 18-35 without focus motors? It works great on Ronin RS3 Pro, even it is not mentioned on your support list. If it works same with Focus Pro, I will buy it.

How do I calibrate the motor on a photo lens? (no hard stops at the ends of the range)?

I tried the DJI focus Pro on my Tokina Cine 11-20 T2.9. I calibrated it multiple times, and from infinity to about 1 meter the focus is okay, but for very close focus (the lens can focus down to 30cm) the image is not sharp. I would love to be able to set the first focus point during calibration at 40cm, not 1 meter, or be able to add more than two focus points during calibration.

You can get it to work with photo lenses by adding a physical hard stop on the focus gear ring (assuming you have attached one). And also that your photo lens has linear mechanical focus. If you can see a distance read out on the lens barrel that moves along with your focus pull, then it will work.

Smallrig actually makes a solution for this. It is essentially plastic tabs that you can simulate hard stops. You'll need to position it accurately at the start and end points of the mechanical focus throw (you'll usually feel it "stop" a little before continuing to free spin). And I can confirm that it works perfectly on my Sigma 18-35 and 24-70.

Was wondering how long until DJI will put out an updated firmware for the Focus Pro?

correction: The firmware update now allows to set the first focus point during calibration at less than 1 meter. Although the display says 1m for the first focus point, I put the camera 0.5 meter away from the focus chart and focused. second focus point at 4.5 meters. Worked flawlessly. Now my Tokina 11-20 T2.9 focuses correctly even at close focusing distances. Thank you.

Last firmware cause lens profiles to be erased when changing batteries or hot swapping between v mount a grip (using tilta ring).
!!! THIS NEED TO BE FIXED ASAP !!!

We also need more calibration points.
So far the distance measuring on the lidar has been off by a few centimenters and best results were made when positioning precisely the camera on a meter scales at 4.5m and 1m and not trusting the lidar reading.

Power consumption is still a big issue as well.

Latest update fucked up the lens calibration and rendered it unusable!! If you calibrate at 1m and 4.5m the focus is off when closer than 1m, if you calibrate at 0.5m and 4.5m the focus is off at 1m, please fix this ASAP or give us the chance to roll back firmware!!!

Is anyone from dji support actually reading this? The focus calibration has been broken with the latest firmware, please fix it asap or give us the option to roll back to previous firmwares.

That's a disappointing firmware update. None of the bugs discussed here are fixed.

My lidar doesn't even work, brand new a'd faulty. No replacement sent when i filed the report. when i sent it for repair it just came back and has the same glitching issue and freezes my ronin when plugged in. I paid an extra $300 buck and it came back with the same issue.

I did all firmware updates 9/26/2024 for Lidar, motor, hand unit, ficus grip. Rs 4 pro and transmission are  on the latest firmware. I am not getting 15 lens pro files under c1, c2 and c3. There is just a delete option in the app or no further page on the transmission monitor. What i do get on the rs4 gimbal and the hand unit every now and than is an incompatible firmware message followed by an update, that does not seam to change anything. Is there something I missed during the process?

Great, the most important thing to add now is, the ability to add lens profiles for zooms and for custom lens brands in the iphone app.

For example, i'm not able to add any arri / fujinon /angenieux zooms inside of the app at the moment.

Also i think it would be important for the autofocus system to know the current focal length of the zoom.

oh i forgot: PLEASE add Run/Stop functionality via LANC or something similar. Not beimg able to trigger the camera via the Hand Unit is a no go.
