How are you Standard owners activating your aircraft? I have the DJI GO app and the manual says to connect to the wifi and then open the app to activate. The wifi network is not showing up. When I open the app, I get an announcement that Phantom 3 Standard requires firmware v1.1.30. There is no firmware on the Standard download page. The Standard page does not list Samsung Galaxy S3 as compatible but people are saying that their S3s are working fine. I don't understand. I got my Standard on Sept 12th after it shipped out on Sept 4th. Are there any changes on how to activate that I don't know about yet?

The firmware update is done via your phone on the standard.   Search and there are posts about this.    It maybe if your standard is brand new it already has the latest firmware

As per your separate post on this subject do you have the phantom and Rac all switched on?    Also do you have the gimble clamp off and the ad card inserted?    If your phone is not picking up phantom wifi is your computer maybe?    And last of all is the battery plugged in and charged.   And also is the Rc charged?

I will answer you here versus on the other forum.

It looks like you may be headed for a replacement.

I downloaded the app on a 2011 HP Touchpad running Android v5.02 (Lollipop). This would definitely not qualify as an approved device.

I powered up the aircraft and remote. Went to wifi settings and saw the Phantom network. Entered the password 12341234 and was immediately connected. Went to the app and all seemed functional. I did not try to fly it (not sure if I would try, but I am tempted), but I the camera was working and all looked good.

So, the fact that you cannot connect the controller with the wifi or even see the network is a problem that I believe has no fix besides sending it back?

That's the problem.  Straoght out of the box, no network showing up on my phone or tablet. Probably a defect. Very upset. Qhen I try to reset the wifi the power led on the controller just blinks with nothing else.

Have you tried detecting the wifi on another device before you send it back?

forget the listed device for time being, all we are doing is to troubleshoot to see if there is a wifi issue with the P3S. if you have a laptop or any device that can pickup both the 5ghz and 2.4ghz, use it to see if you can see the phantom network??

I talk to DJI and after going through all the troubleshooting steps that I've already been through, I will be getting a replacement Standard. It must be a Wi-Fi defect.

I guess you did not read my post above ^^^.

I downloaded the app to a 2011 HP Touchpad running Android Lollipop, This would never make an approved device list. It worked fine.
I think a return is in order.
