Pocket 3 Captures the bluebells....


Thought Id try the pocket 3 at capturing some blue bells and for once the colours werent bad.

Last year it was about May 6th that they really got going here so theres still time.

Yesterdays woods were really busy,  the car parks were over flowing and people were parking down the road.   Found a good cache which was stuck to a stone in plain site.  

And then we spotted a guy with a Ronin filming the bluebells which made us wonder where that would be used.

It's astonishing, but understandable, how a bit of nice weather brings the crowds out of the woodwork.

I think most were there for the bluebells,   it's probably the best wood for them that weve found.

I know of one in Sandbach, that I visited  a couple of years back.
We may take a ride out there next month if we get a decent day for it.

Most of those are at the farthest extremes of Derbyshire in relation to us,
The local one for us is at Hayfield - walking distance from here.
And Ladybower used to be reknowned for them.

You might have to dust off the car if you want to see the best ones then,  the ones we went to yesterday are about 26 miles away.

We’ve just had a huge hail shower which is typical as I cleaned the car yesterday.   I’m wondering how water proof the avata 2 is.

Thanks DT,  I was pleased how it picked up the colours,   usually they disappear when photographed.

The winds not letting up either so I have flown it around the house a little but stopped as going through doors was too nerve-racking for me at this point,  although Im much happier with the proper remote that got delivered earlier.

I'm sure you'll be fine once you actually do get outdoors with it.

Theres a few things which will be odd,   usually when landing I will flip the camera to look directly down and either hand catch it or land on a surface like a wall,  now thats not very possible,  so theres a learning curve there.

Spanish bluebells are a lighter shade of blue usually.

So far Im a bit disappointed,    I didnt realise that they had dumped down the goggles so much that they cannot be used with the DJI flight sim or any third party sims.   Totally wrecked my plans to use them to learn full manual mode.

You'd think DJI would have a robust simulator that works with all their goggles.

They did but they discontinued it in March.

I completely agree,   Id seen the app update said that it added avata 2 sim support and got super excited and then to find its a complete fail I was kicking myself for not researching better.

I wish I could remember which SIM that Depp posted on one of his replies to a new user of either the FPV or Avata.  Maybe shoot him a PM to see if he has a good SIM recommendation.

Problem is they’ve dropped support for video into the goggles with the v3 so you can only use the remote v3 to control the sim.

I cant see why it couldnt come back,  but Im now getting the feeling this is being sold more as a beginners drone and kept dumb deliberately for simplicity sake.
