Relating to answering questions from the community.: When I shot the footage of my place of work, there were a couple employees taking a walk, and one of them yelled out with an intrepid shriek, "IS THAT A DRONE?!?!" I indignantly yelled back "NO, IT'S A QUADCOPTER...COME TAKE A LOOK". They gathered around the RC and looked at what I was seeing from above and all exclaimed "OH WOW...HOW COOL". Post editing, I sent them the URL and they were astounded. In my response I made it a point to differentiate between what our Military does with REAL DRONES, and that we, as a QC community are all about having responsible fun.

Next will be a t-shirt that tells people:

• NO it's not a DRONE!
• 400FT is the height limit!
• It's always in my LOS -line of sight!
• Yes, it was expensive - $1200 in change!
• NO it is NOT a TOY!
• ...and NO you can't try fly it!

call it a pooper-scooper, I don't really care. There's a distinction between what a drone is and what the perception of a drone is, and the responsibility lies on us and what we are associated with to make those distinctions clear.

Sorry.  By every definition I can find, it IS A DRONE.

1. Its a UAV (unmanned aerial vehicle).
2. Its capable of remote controlled flight.
3. Its capable of flying a preprogrammed flight plan (waypoints for example, RTH for example)
4. Its capable of autonomous flight (RTH for example)

Not all quadcopters are drones.  Not all drones are quadcopters.  The Phantom just so happens to be both.
