Because of high prices for DJI spare batteries I bought a 3,850 mAh battery from AliExpress, which has worked absolutely fine up until today giving me long duration flights, but since I made the Firmware update today it won't even allow me to take-off as the Contoller recognises it as a non-DJI battery.
I believe this is very heavy-handed of DJI in preventing non-DJI batteries being used, and smacks somewhat of "Restricted Practice".
What other manufacturer prevents batteries other than their own being used in products? Your Car? Your phone? Your eBike? other household electric products?
No . . you can use any Manufacturers compatible replacement.
This battery has become worthless now, unless it will still work in a DJI Mini 3 Pro, which maybe doesn't have the same sophistication.
I hope "someone" from DJI gives a very good reason for doing this, and compensates me for my loss, as the battery has been perfect up until today, when being flown in the over 250 gram category with my relevant A2-CofC drone quaifications.
I wonder what DJI will think of next?
Maybe in future DJI programmers will find a way of recognising that Master Airscrew propellors are fitted, or non-DJI filters on the camera, or any other non-DJI add-ons.
Who knows?

Perhaps you should be comparing other aircraft & their parts that can fall out of the sky rather than benign houses hold electrical goods.
