Lone tree in Spring....


A follow up on yesterdays lone tree,  both shots taken on the same day,  honest.

Wow, the lone tree really stands out in that field of yellow.  Great capture DA.

Thats what I call a teaser day.

I really like the yellow flowers. Great capture.

They should plant a second tree there to give it a friend.

Just a different angle and height as there are two very different crops in adjacent fields.

Thanks Mr B.   More bluebells are on the forecast today,   got a tip about some woods in billerically the home of Gavin and Stacey.     Then I must plant my potatoes this afternoon.

An early visit to the bluebell woods today revealed some progress, but maybe another week until we get the blue carpet.

Looks promising,    we visited the one that raved about around here and was quite disappointed,  the bluebells themselves were fine but the scenes we found were all too cluttered..

Need a bit warmth to set the paint that I sprayed yesterday,    I found a guide from a paint shop how to dilute hammerite to spray and I must say it went really well.   Nice even finish which is much nicer than what was on them before I stripped them back to metal.

Never thought of spraying Hammerite.  You can get a smooth version, I know, rather than the crackle finish.  That's the one we used in the past.

I sprayed the smooth version and got a little bit of texture with it,   mostly due to the metal getting warm in the sun,  but for grates that cover drain ways thats fine.

Well as predicted but not by the forecast it did rain yesterday afternoon,   shortly after I got back from crashing the avata.

Totally my fault,   I had switched to full manual mode and was just getting a handle on things when I realised I couldnt get it up to top speed,   I seemed to recall the custom toggle switched the angle so I thought perhaps I need to be more angled for a top speed run.    I flicked the switch whilst doing 40mph along the side of the creek only to find out it was configured to stop the motors,  the drone dropped like a stone from 250ft.     After realising that I cant use find my drone without a cable I set off waving the goggles in the air and pressing the button to make the ESC beep,  eventually the goggles connected and then a bit further along the path I heard beeping,  and after much searching in the under growth I found it in long grass.    Zero damage,  so I feel I got really lucky.

Jeez! What a butt-clenching experience. Well done for retrieving it - good job it wasn't over water.
And testament to the robustness of the machine, that it survived such a fall.

I was shocked it was fine,  I checked it all over several times and then did a quick test flight.      I think I have it falling on video too
