For your drone to get good GPS position information, it needs two things.
1. Enough sats
2. Sats must be spread far enough apart in the sky.
10 sats bunched in a small part of the sky don't give location data like 10 sats spread across the whole sky would.
Flying where a large part of the skyview is blocked by tree cover, buildings or terrain, you may have trouble getting enough sats AND a good spread of sats.
6-11 sats is a very low number of sats when your drone would be picking up around 30 in an open area.
With only 6-10, it's likely that were bunched close together in a small "window" of sky.
As mentioned above, the number of sats isn't the most important thing.
Watch the sat icon and when it's gone from red, to yellow and then to white, the app is telling you that you have good GPS data. |
