It's been a rare problem since the first DJI FPV System that sometimes randomly happens. I use those same cards (it's even in DJI's list of recommended cards) as well as other SanDisk models, and never had issues except with one original FPV Air Unit. Sometimes it goes away when you format the card inside the device itself, so try that first. Good luck.

How do you format the SD card in the Avata 2 drone.

I've been using SanDisk Extreme cards on my Avata 2 and Goggles 3 and haven't had any problems yet.  I've had slow SD card warnings with Sandisk Ultra cards even on my old V2 Goggles.

How do you format the SD card in the Avata 2 drone.

Hi there. Thank you for reaching out. We recommend backing up all the necessary files on your SD card before reformatting. You can reformat your SD card using your computer or format it directly on the Goggles, when DJI Avata 2 and DJI Goggles 3 are powered on and linked, access the goggles menu and navigate to Settings > Camera > Format to initiate the formatting of either the microSD card or internal storage. Please remember that before proceeding with the formatting, it is crucial to store and create backups of your data to prevent any potential loss of data. Hope this helps.

Hi so I'm having this SD card slow message on my Avata 2 I have tried formatting in the goggles and laptop but still happens I have purchased the SanDisk extreme u3 v30 card from SanDisk directly on Amazon.. I have even ran speed tests on the SD card on my laptop to check the read / write speeds and it's 100% genuine so clearly the issue is with the Avata 2 so what do I do next as I can't record a single video as I get the error every time after 10 seconds into the flight and video stops recording.... Very disappointed I've only flown 4 packs and the error is always there...

Dear Sirs. I have the same reading issues with internal memory and SD cards in both Avata 2 and Googles 3. I am able to format both but when powering off and on again, it is impossible to recognize any of the memories and download files. I am using you latest software installed with assistant 2. Please advise me for fixing this annoying  issue

Hi there,
thank you for reaching out.

Good morning. After formatting and flying I am able to retrieve data only as long as I don't power off drone or googles. This issue occurs with both of my drones: Avata and Avata 2 using different computers running win10 and win11 and with latest firmware loaded through Assistant 2.

Update... So I emailed DJI support and got a quick response ..

" However, upon review, we would like to inform you that the SD card you are using is not compatible with our DJI Goggles 3. "

So they're basically saying the SanDisk Extreme pro U3 A2 V30 SD card is not supported...even though many many people use it with no issues so I guess I'll need to buy 1 of they're recommended cards to see if that makes any difference....

Hi there,
thank you for reaching out.

We recommend using an SD card that is listed on our website to avoid any issues, as we have already tested these cards with the DJI Avata 2 & Goggles 3.

Please refer to the following links:

If you have any other questions, please feel free to contact us. Thank you.

Hi there,
thank you for reaching out.

Hi so new update I've now purchased

Kingston Canvas Go! Plus microSD memory card Class 10, UHS-I 256GB microSDXC 170R A2 U3 V30 Card + ADP

And formatted SD card in Avata 2 still get SD SLOW warning message so I then formatted in my laptop but exact same issue SD SLOW warning message in my goggles so that's 3 different SD cards all doing the same thing so should I just work my way down the list of supported cars until I find 1 that works or will DJI accept there's an issue with the drone ?? I have run speed tests on the cards on my laptop and can confirm the SD cards are genuine...

So faulty Avata ?

Hi there,

We truly understand your inconvenience on this matter.

Kindly test the write speed of the SD card on a computer. Do revert back to us If the speed can reach more than 20MB/S.

Thank you.

Hi there,

We do apologize for the trouble that this has caused. However before run a further diagnosis on your DJI product we highly suggest you try this 3 steps first. Since this common error appear generally due to SD cards.

1) Format the SD card and try again.
2) Try new SD card from the compatible list and try again
3) Make sure you are on the latest firmware version

If the issue persists upon the above troubleshooting steps, please let us know to assist further on this issue.

Hi not sure if you are a bot or real DJI representative but IF you read my post properly I have mentioned...

1 I have formatted SD card inside Avata 2 and in Windows on my laptop..

2 I have tried a recommended card in the specs list ( recommended SD card for Avata 2 ) I still have the SD CARD SLOW warning...

3 I am on the latest firmware as I only bought the Avata 2 roughly 2 weeks ago and installed new firmware when I 1st set it all up ..

Something doesn't sounds right, Sandisk extreme write at 90MB/s while 4k should be about 30MB/s
Edit: Extreme cards works fine, Just that I had one with lots of usage going at 10mb vs 90mb

Use Sandisk extreme pro any configuration of data. I prefer 1tb since they last so long.
