I am pleased with my Action 4, but not so much with the v1 Mic and its Bluetooth connectivity.
I just completed my 3rd bicycle tour and despite my best efforts to see that volume was being registered on the Rx(receiver), 50 of my 166 videos resulted in the audio being dropped after about 3-5 seconds into the video.  I am not too pleased that now that 30% are useless.

In the attached image you can see how I attached the receiver to the Action 4.

I do have an open ticket with the tech support team and am working with them on a solution, but after reading a bunch of threads here, the future doesn't look too encouraging for a permanent solution.

I have already updated all firmware.

My question:
Has anyone found a preferred order in which to turn on each device in order to achieve an audio connection that won't drop?
I have read where the use of the QuickStart button can result in dropped audio.

Any other helpful ideas/tips/tricks/hints when using this type of connectivity would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
-Keith

Today, I did some more testing while on another bicycle ride.

As mentioned by someone else, usage of the QS (QuickStart) button does not play well with the v1 Mic and Rx for the Action 4 to correctly sync record the entire clip.

I found my best results(least dropped audio) by doing the following:
Turn on Mic or RX
Then turn on Rx or Mic
Then turn on Action 4
WAIT and WAIT until you see the volume level indicator move in both the Rx and Action 4 view screen
Then start recording by the QS button

I looked to see if this was documented anywhere and found nothing.

Hope this helps someone else from losing a bunch of videos due to audio loss.

-Keith

I've had exactly the same problem - but it's just a loud buzzing over my clips. I'm doing POV motorbike footage and half of my clips from a long ride a few days ago are totally ruined with the audio from the wireless mic not working. It cuts to buzzing after one second on the clips. I'm using the Osmo Action 4 and Wireless mic 1. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I too recently had a few clips that had a buzz as well, but it was low in volume and did not obscure the main audio completely.  I am beginning to believe that Bluetooth connections are not as reliable and free from interference as the industry would like them to be.

Being on a motorcycle with potentially more electrical interference than I would have on a bicycle, perhaps some electronic component on the motorcycle is leaking a higher than expected level of RF interference.  Just a guess as I'm not a motorcycle owner.
