Hi there.

It seems my Android can't have the DJI Fly App.
It's a Redmi 7 from Xiaomi and it doesn't show on the phone compatibility list:

Android V 1.13.0

Requires Android 7.0 or above.

Compatible with: Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra, Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra, Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra, Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra, Samsung Galaxy A54, Samsung Galaxy A53,  HUAWEI Mate 60 Pro, HUAWEI Mate 50 Pro, HUAWEI P60 Pro, HUAWEI P50 Pro, Xiaomi 13 Ultra, Xiaomi 12 Ultra, Xiaomi 11 Ultra, Xiaomi MIX 4, Xiaomi POCO X5 Pro, Redmi Note 12 Pro, Redmi Note 11 Pro, Redmi K60 Pro, Redmi 12C, HUAWEI nova11 Pro, Honor 90 Pro, OPPO Reno 10 Pro, VIVO X100 Pro, VIVO S17 Pro, VIVO Y78+, iQOO neo8,  OnePlus Nord CE 3, Pixel 8 Pro

I have the DJI Store App only and I can't find the Fly App when I'm searching the playstore.
I'm not buying a new phone just for that, I guess I must use the Dji Assistant 2...
Any tutorial about how to activate the AV2 with it?
EDIT: Upgrade and Activation done with Care Refresh too.

So, I'm good to go!

Hi there. Sorry about the inconvenience. May we know what happens when you install the DJI Fly app on your phone? Generally, devices not listed as supported mobile devices can also be used if their system versions are the same or later than those published on the DJI official website (Beta system versions may not be compatible), but their stabilization has not yet been verified. Thank you.

Hi,

The problem is I can't install the app on my android phone!
The play store doesn't even show the app to be installed, only the DJI STORE APP which I already got.
I used the DJI Assistant 2 on my PC to update goggles, MC and drone.
And now the flight is restricted as you can read my other post.
I have a Xiaomi Redmi Note 7

I need an alternative to update the flysafe database and bind my phone number.

Please help!

Hi,

The problem is I can't install the app on my android phone!

Hi there. Thank you for the update. The DJI Fly will not be able to be downloaded from Google Play. Please download it from the download page on DJI’s official website at https://www.dji.com/id/downloads/djiapp/dji-fly. It has not yet been determined when the apps will be downloadable again from Google Play. If there are any further updates, we will promptly send out a notification. Thank you.

dji drones require expensive cellphones to run their apps. It's one of dji's failings (and there are quite a few more)
Their drones are amazing but you really have to jump through the hoops and open your pocket right up to get them flying.
I'm not happy with what I regard as a rip-off - I'm looking for alternative brandss.

Hi there, thank you for reaching out. Regrettably, Xiaomi 14 is not listed as a Supported Mobile Device on DJI Official Website. Generally, devices not listed as supported mobile devices can also be used if their system versions are the same or later than those published on the DJI official website (Beta system versions may not be compatible), but their stabilization has not yet been verified. It is recommended that you download and install the app to test the basic functions, or go to a nearby outlet (if any) for product testing.

Thank you for your understanding.

That's not really the case...

Most phone and tablet with Android will work just fine...

The DJI list of approved phone is simply a work in progress as they add phones as people report them...

The important thing to remember is to download the DJI App from the website and not that stupid Google Play crap...

Then you need to understand that for some app that don't come from the google play, you will also need to change your phone setting and allow 3rd pary application installation, against google advise that it is a terrible thing to do...

Bottom line is that there are plenty of app that are not on google play, but that doesn't make them any less enjoyable or trustworthy or important...

That's only what google wants you to believe...

This is just one of the many sites where you don't need google play to get what you want...

Thank You.

I already did and it's working fine till now.

I am unable to install DJI Fly app on Android (Samsung Galaxy S21) - It starts installing, but it interrupts saying the app is for an older version of Android which doesn't support the upgraded privacy support.

I have found that this IS the case. For example i cannot install dji fly on my a13, even though it is only about two years old. This is after doing all that is necessary to install the apk.
I was looking at getting a new phone anyway, but the galaxy phones in my price range have since been discontinued. No one in customer service can tell me if the phone that supersceded them (a55) will work.
So Im supposed to make a $500AU bet that it will?
As the previous poster stared  this isnt good enough. Dji need to do more to keep their compatibility list updated AND improve privacy concerns.

The A13 is a 32 bit phone which won't work with Dji fly app! If you are going to buy a phone to use for flyiing, why not buy a 2nd hand phonr and keep it solely for using your drone/s and leave it without the sim fitted. You will have NO interruptions on your mobile accessory that you use for flying. No way you need to spend $500AU  to achieve this.

It looks like you have taken my post out of context..

I have never said that DJI Fly will work on all devices..

For instance, the A55 should (I'm sure it will) work, as the A52, the A53 and the A54 they all had no issue with running the DJI Fly App...

What I said is that, DJI uses the customer reporting back to update the list of approved phone...

You are not supposed to make a $500 bet, and I agree with you that DJI does not provide a decent list of phones.

Also, if you are buying a phone just for this purpose, I would suggest you go for a Samsung TAB instead..

Cost the same, but you get a much bigger picture... I personally use the Tab A8 with my controller...
Officeworks sells the Tab A9 for $297. Now considering that the Tab A7 and the Tab A8 both do work fine, it seems plausible that the A9 will work as well...

Finally, as a suggestion to DJI, they could also keep a list of NON Compatible Phone, as it seems that customers are reporting both anyway... The problem with that is, that more often than not, it is the actual user that fail the installation, and not the device unable to run the software...

But DJI cannot blame the customer either, as the lack of transparency and DJI choice to refuse to agree to Google terms and condition, right or wrong that it may be, has kicked them out of the Google Play store in the first place, and as we can all see, it has created problem after problem for the DJI consumer..
