1. Does the Power 500 seem noisy to anyone else?
When I'm just charging it (at 270W) the unit seems to 'rumble'. Is this normal from the fan(s)?
All the paid reviews on YouTube suggest it's silent.

2. How do you perform a firmware upload check?
I've download the DJI Assistant 2 (Power Series) Windows software, but when the unit is connected to the PC it isn't detected in the software.
I've tried various C to C and A to C cables and the various ports on the unit.

Thanks.

Thanks for your help.

Hello, there. Sorry for the inconvenience.
1. About the noise, could you please record a video for us if the issue persists after you update the firmware to the latest one after trying step 2 or if the device still can not be detected by the DJI Assistant 2?
2. Please check whether you connect it to the PC in the right way:
To enter firmware update mode, press and hold the AC button while simultaneously holding the power button when the device is turned off.
Then connect to PC to update the firmware via DJI Assistant 2.
If it can not be detected, please record a video for us as well.
Note: Make sure you download the right and latest version of DJI Assistant 2.

Thank you very much for the info.
I've successfully updated the firmware to .0301
I will post back again (with a recording) if the unit is still noisy.

I've made a 30 sec sound recording, but I don't know how to upload it here (no file format support).
When I play it back on my PC, it doesn't really represent the sound of the unit.

The rumbling sound is gone. Now it's just a constant loud fan noise.
I'm not sure if that's normal or not.

You may upload it to a cloud drive, like Google Drive or Dropbox.
We will check the video first.

Here's a Google Drive link for the audio file:

I recorded it on a phone about 30cm from the Power 500.
You'll probably need to turn up your speakers to hear it. But in reality, I could hear the fan noise at the other side of the room.

I've also noticed that after the fan(s) have kicked in, they don't seem to reduce again when the load on the unit has reduced.

Got it. We generally prefer video for troubleshooting.
We are waiting for the confirmation from our engineers.

Update:
Judging by levels, spectrograms, and what we actually heard, it is normal.

About the information you added below, reducing the load does not mean that the temperature inside the power can be reduced at that time. Therefore, after the load is reduced, the fan needs to continue to work to reduce the temperature inside the device, and the fan speed will slow down.

You are most welcome,

Could you please give me the weblink so I can register the Power 500 to get the extended warranty?
Thank you.

Edit: Never mind. I found the site and registered it.
