Beware - app record stop/start not reliable with Canon R5

Hi,
Yesterday I spent the day filming with my R5 and Ronin RS3 Pro on a car rig. I controlled the R5 and Ronin via the app. Everything seemed fine with the camera controls (apurture, ISO, shutter) all working fine, and it looked like record start / stop was working too from what I could see on the app.  
At the end of the day I looked on the camera and not all the clips I had recorded were on the camera card. Out of 35 clips, only 11 appeared on the camera. I could download the low res clips from the app, so I can see what I am missing, but 60% of the time the Ronin was not triggering the camera.

Any ideas why this might be happening and how to fix? I had the camera connected by USBC to the RS3 Pro, and by HDMI to the Raveneye. Another USBC connected to the Raveneye for power, and to the focus motor.
