Remote Controller 2, video loss = control loss?

A reliable source did a video a year ago that when the RC2 is used with the Goggles (V2 or 2) and an O3 system, and video is lost (gone beyond video range) then control is also lost for at least 5sec.  After which the RC2 would switch over to 2.4ghz and try to reconnect.  Of course, 5 seconds of flight with no control is undoubtably going to lead to a crash, or hopefully triggered a failsafe response that's kept the aircraft alive for that long.

I thought I read somewhere this was fixed in one of the firmware updates and that it would now instantly switch over to 2.4ghz and continue to control the aircraft.

So my question is: Has the Remote Controller 2 been updated such that in the event of video loss it retains control of the aircraft?

Hi, MonsterMaxx. Thank you for patiently waiting. Here's the update from our relevant team: there has been no feedback that the video transmission signal of the flight goggles has been lost, resulting in the loss of the remote control signal. If only the image transmission signal of the flight goggles is lost, the flight goggles are not powered off and will not cause the remote controller signal to be lost.
The known logic is that when the flight goggles are powered off, the remote control signal will be temporarily disconnected.  And this logic has not been changed, and it is still the same logic now.

And that 'temporary' time is what?  5sec?

Your DM just says:  "Sorry for the delay in getting back to you with the info requested. We're working diligently to gather all the necessary details and will provide them to you as soon as possible."

Was that in error, did you intend to provide meaningful information and it got left out?

FYI: Luv my Goggles 2 and O3 system, but losing control on a expensive quad is not an option so I've jumped ship and have built a 8S 7" quad with RP4TD ExpressLRS and as soon as more RX show up I'll be migrating all my other birds to ELRS too. Kind of a pain in the backside, but other than this loss of control issue I've been pretty happy with the RC2 and it's WAY easier to configure.

IMHO DJI should take this issue seriously and come up with a better plan than no control for 5 sec.  I see a lot of threads reporting this problem and not much action on DJI's part.

That's just the way I see it.  YMMV

Thank you for patiently waiting. Our relevant team confirmed that there is no specific time, which is equivalent to the re-establishment of the link between the O3 air unit and the remote control. It is related to the distance and environmental interference at the time. It probably takes a few seconds.
