I bought a mini 3 pro second hand, the previous owner logged into his account with me on the RC remote, but we didn’t know how to unlink it. The deal was completed, I fly under his account... but I have my own and want to relink the drone and remote controller to my account. If it is impossible to contact the previous owner, can I use the RC remote controller to unlink his account and link to my own?

So I had my entire drone stolen with the bag and all contents. I opened a support ticket about this over a year and a half ago. I have heard nothing from support. All I know is whoever has my drone has never even powered it on because no information has changed in my account. I am going to assume at this point that all is lost when it comes to getting my drone replaced. Support said if it comes in for service they would let me know but that has not happened. It has not been turned or maybe it has and they know they cannot use the drone so it sits in their closet I guess. In the mean time I am out a fairly new drone that cost me over 500 bucks. I monitor my account and nothing has changed this whole so when does DJI take some sort of action on this???

I'm sorry to hear about this issue you've experienced. Could you please let us know where you got or purchased this product?

① If you purchased the drone from the DJI official channel (such as the DJI Store/Service Center, Amazon LLC, Bestbuy LLC, or local dealer), you will need to offer the order number or case number and proof of purchase for further checking.

② If you purchased the drone through private transactions or a second-hand platform, you need to contact the seller and ask them to log in to the DJI Fly app and unbind the account. After the account has been successfully unbound, you can then log in using your own account. Therefore, please provide us with proof of purchase so we can verify the source.

③ If you borrowed the drone, please contact the owner and ask them to log in to the DJI Fly app and unbind the original account, or have them provide you with the bound account for you to use.

To remove or unbind the aircraft from the account, there is no need to connect the aircraft. But only the bound account can operate this function.
The path is: Profile>Device Management>Account and Device>Remove device from account. Thank you for your understanding and support.

If you have the RC Remote and its logged into the previous owners account connect it to the Internet,   go to Profile from the main screen,   Device Management,  select the Mini 3 Pro,    Under where it says Bound To ... Email address you will have the option Remove Device from account.     If It says device bound to another account it means it's not bound to the account the seller has.

I have a similar issue, and, for some reason, I can't post a new thread.... sorry to jump on yours but any advice would be greatly appreciated.  Here's what my situation is:  

My kid found a Mini2 drone with broken props and dead battery in a tree while we were on vacation.  Once we got home, I was able to access the card and found the drone owner's info and was able to find and contact him via LinkedIn.  He let me know that he'd already placed an insurance claim and ordered a newer model, but was super happy to hear that his data hadn't been lost.  He suggested that we keep the drone and just send him back the card, which we did.  I then ordered a controller, batteries and replacement blades from a reseller but can't get the controller and m2 to connect since the drone is bound to another controller and account.  I reached out to the guy I'd originally found and it turns out that he had bought the drone, controller & accessories used, and the original owner's account had never been unbound from the equipment.  He's offered to reach out to the original owner and ask him to unbind (since I can only find a partially hashed email for the account) but so far, no luck.   I have the SN's of course - just need a solution to be able to make use of it.  Thanks for any advice anyone has for next steps.

1. To address your concern about logging out of the previous owner's account on the remote control and unlinking it from the drone, you can indeed perform this unbinding process yourself. However, you need to ask permission from the previous owner. To help you better understand the unbinding process, the bound account needs to be logged in on the DJI Fly app. After logging in, you need to go to "Profile," then locate "Device Management." Tap the "Account and Device tab,"  then choose "Remove device from account." I hope this helps. 

2. The previous owner needs to unbind his or her DJI account from the drone through the DJI Fly app, so you can bind your own DJI account to the drone.

Once an insurance claim goes through to replace a lost drone the old drone is locked so that it cannot be used.    Technically now that is the property of DJI and should be returned to them.

If you are still logged onto the controller with the previous owners account then you dont need to contact them you will have the option to remove it yourself,  once thats done you can log out and log on with your own account and rebind the drone

It seems nothing to do but contact the original ower to unbound his/her account.
Try to find him/her on all kinds of social medium by searching the original owner's email address.
Maybe it's works.

If a mod responds PM them with the drone's serial number.
DJI with have that serial number logged against the email address of the binding account.
DJI can email that address and ask that the drone and controller be unbound.
If the original owner does that then you should be " good to go".

We apologize for the inconvenience. Please kindly note that normally only the account owner has the right to unbind the drone with the account. This limitation is used to protect the ownership of the product and in respect of the privacy rules and regulations. If you purchase a second-hand drone, we recommend you try to contact your seller to confirm with the previous owner to log in to the account and unbind the drone first. Then you can log in to your account to bind it. Additionally, kindly provide your SN of the drone via PM.

For confirmation, if you purchased the drone by private transactions/second-hand platform. You need to contact the seller and ask them to log in to the DJI Fly app and unbind the account. Get their name then hop on book face and locate them this way mabey uve thought of this solution but figured if not then you could try

Hello, maybe DJI accounts have problems. Now I have my drone bound to my own account, to the same email and same RC. I am into the email DJI say the drone is bound and no way to unbind it. Thanks in advance for your reply

Hi there, I have the same problem. Bought two minis and the seller can't access to his both accounts that have bind the drones. I have one mini 2 buyed from the seller 4 years ago, so he has not more the receipt and he can't login to his gmail, he's locked out for mfa on his google account. The second one is a mini 3, the same story, he can't access his account to unbind the drone but gave to me the all the box, documentation and receipt. Can you support me on removing the drones from his account please? Thanks
