At first I thought the DJI Go waypoint setup was a bad idea...but now..

...but now I like it. One of the things I do like about the waypoints is that in the initial mapping run that establishes the waypoints I can take my time and set up my shots..then add the waypoint (easy, push C1). In the mapping flight I have a lot of rough edges...but the saved "rerun" smooths out the flight...the camera angle remains the same as I set in the manual run. When I last had waypoint capability with the P2, I really liked the pre-planning...but I couldn't always point at the target.

I think your suggestions are good ones...especially the suggestion to make your first and last waypoints very close together...I learned this when I used to  pre-plan waypoints. I never fly under 35 feet for waypoints...since the GPS is only accurate to a 6ft. radius.
