I wanted to buy FPV Controller 3 but I don't know if I can fly Avata 1 with it?

No, only Avata 2, and only with Goggles 3. (Once Goggles 2 and Integra support Avata 2, FPVRC3 will not work in combination with them, only FPVRC2 and RCM2 will.)

It's a completely different protocol and controllers (FPVRC3 and RCM3) now pair to Goggles 3 and not the aircraft. Avata 1 would need to get support in Goggles 3 to be able to use FPVRC3. Not impossible, but I'd say very unlikely.

Avata 1 needs to connect to the RC and this works nicely with the RC2 and external antenna but maybe not so much for the RC2 which connects thru the goggles.  For the Avata 1, I believe this would be messy at best and not sure DJI would want to do this....but yes, anything is possible.

Wouldn't even be physically possible to connect it straight to Avata 1 as they don't have compatible radio hardware. You'd need Goggles 3, and they would need support for Avata 1 in order to use FPVRC3 or RCM3.
