After a few minutes flying with head tracking on the avata2 gimbal begins a strange jumping jitter thing that I just cant figure out. It hasn't been crashed or anything and it seems like a software or firmware bug because it will stop jumping jittering sometimes for a minute or two when i pause and  re zero the motion 3. It does NOT do it when head tracking is off. I've spent several batteries testing when it does and doesn't do this... It is definitely the head tracking somehow causing it. I have factory reset everything, have latest firmware, and it still does this. I uploaded a video of it to show what I'm talking about.

I have experienced the exact same issue of the twitching when the head tracking is on . Glad the update resolved it for you. I have not had a chance to fly with the new firmware yet.

Having the same issue with the DJI mini 4 using goggles 3 and motion 3. Only happens when head tracking is on, constant jerking up or down of the gimbal. Highly irritating and makes it impossible to get any usable footage.

Yes I have, everything is up to date. Does it constantly, seems more likely to happen than to not.

Hello Dj Ravien,
I am having the exact same issue with the gimbal jumping as you are. I am flying the Mini 4 Pro as well with the Goggles 3 and motion controller 3. All my firmware is up to date and I have tried the suggested gimble re-calibration with no good result. I am hoping that DJI is aware of this issue and will be addressing the issue soon.

I am also having the same issue and it happens on both the mini 4 pro and Air 3. The gimble has been recalibrated as well with all the latest firmware.

I just realized my motion controller 3 hadn't been updated with the latest firmware so I went ahead and updated it and now hopefully it will be fixed.

Yes I did that several time and the issue still persists. Do you have any other suggestions. I believe the problem is something in the Goggles 3 as I have seen reports on the DJI Forum from Air 3 and Avata 2, and other Minin 4 Pro flyers.

If I had another set of Goggles 3 to try and see if the issue was something physical instead of a firmware bug I would do that. Can you share how the headtracking works, so I can understand it more clearly.

My video is in an MP4 format and I have no ability to convert it to another to be able to upload the file.
My video does look exactly like the one provided by Radio Ross at the head of this post who is having the same problem with his Avata 2.

The gimble tilts down slightly for a fraction of a second and then moves quickly back up to its original position. This happens over and over at no regular interval and continues until you exit the Head Tracking mode. Once the Head Tracking is off the gimble performs in a normal manner.

Hi there, since you have updated your firmware and did the troubleshooting as well, I would recommend sending your device back to our repair facility. This will allow our certified technicians to fully inspect the device. You may register an online repair request here: [https://repair.dji.com/us/repair/index]. Please rest assured that this will be taken care of and handled accordingly. Thank you for your understanding and have a nice day ahead!

Just to be clear, am I just sending the Goggles 3? If not can you list all of the devices you require. I have the Mini 4 Pro, RC 2 with the screen, and Motion Controller 3.
Can you tell me what this repair service will cost me beyond the shipping fee. Thanks Bruce Tuthill btuthill@bellsouth.net

On additional question to ask, Once all the devices I have are set up correctly, that is the (Mini 4 Pro, RC2, Motion Controller 3 and Goggles 3) Should I be able to turn on the drone and RC 2 and fly that way, or turn on the drone, Goggles 3, and Motion Controller 3, and fly that way without having to do anything else? Or do you have to Unbind the RC 2 from the drone, and bind the MC 3, Goggles 3, and drone to fly in that configuration? Thanks

Seems to indicate this is possible, although I have not been able to get that to work.
When I get to the last step I can't get the binding to work.
Hopefully you can comment on this.
If I am sending back the Goggles 3, Motion Controller 3, and Mini 4, I will include 2 SD cards in the drone and goggles with a recording of the Gimble Jumping for your engineers to see. Thanks

If it turns out that there is a defect in the Goggles 3 that I purchased from Drone Nerds, and authorized DJI Dealer, will that affect how much I have to pay for a replacement or repair?

Yes I have done the gimble re-calibration as the other pilots have done and that has not solved the problem.
I have a list of 5 other pilots from the DJI Forum, have the same issue, flying the Mini 4 Pro, Air 3, and Avata 2 with the Goggles 3. However I have tried to add their names to my post...but I get a prompt that that is against the rules?  Not sure why you would put the in place.
I have now tried 3 different pairs of Goggles 3 and they all have the jumping gimble movements you can see in my videos.
So I know you have a serious problem, involving several different drones when combined with the Goggles 3.
I have already sent a pair in for repair and had them returned and still the issue persists.
So I am not sure where to go from hear...I guess the message is you have to live with this as the new normal.
