cdng is the best option workflow wise.
But you can't shoot 8k cdng faster than 25fps.
Since the I3 has a lot of rolling shutter when shooting slower than 30fps this is not an option for many scenarios.
Thanks but I find that even 30 fps is not an option with the rolling shutter for shooting action related content. Slower paced Landscape videos can work with 25 or 30 fps but anything else requires 50 or 60 fps in my experience.
I'm finding a lot of issues with the x9 when shooting in 8k pro res raw, even with a 16 ND filter the image blows out in bright mid day scenarios especially if you are flying over water. The only fix for this is to white balance changing the color temperature which throws the natural color off
Getting back to the work flow, shooting in 8k pro res raw, Using the wide color gamut HDR enhances the image but I have a hard time balancing HDR so that it doesn't appear blown out on non HDR tv screens. It seems that most of the professional Inspire 3 promos out there have edited their videos in SDR. There are very few Inspire 3 videos in HDR that exist on the web. I've found one video on the inspire 2 workflow to deal with HDR videos and the guy doesn't want to go above 400 nits on Final Cut Pro. I normally push mine to 1000 nits to really make the colors pop but this might be too bright.
What is your experience editing HDR video with the Inspire 3 wide cinema gamut? |
