Initial thought was to purchase a 4th battery along with some additional spare propellers. Charging 3 in the charger and 1 in the quad.  Just an immersive flyer. Realized ~1hr session is fine. If they ever go on "sale", might consider a 4th battery.  Today, charged 2 in the charger and one in the quad. Saved a few minutes for the whole charging process. 3 is turning out to be the "sweet spot".

I have four Avata 2 batteries and an Anker 737 power bank.
While you fly you can easily fast charge the others with 60W PD.
I can recharge 3...4 Avata 2 batteries with the power bank (of course depending on how much energy left when I returned home, I always immediately return when the battery low warning appears).

The Anker 737 is afaik the only known power bank that works with DJI Two-Way-Charging-Hubs of Avata 2 and Air 3, because it has a USB-C In/Out and a seperate dedicated USB-C Out, otherwise both devices fight constantly about which direction to charge (they really change their opinion who is sink/source every single second).

There are other power banks on the market with dedicated USB-C Out, but mostly these seperate ports are limited to 20W only. Unfurtunately the Anker 737 is EOL, so they clear stock currently.

Keep in mind, if you want to go this way, do not buy the successor of the Anker 737, the newer Anker Prime will not work.

The flight time in manual is 9-12 minutes but in N/S mode it's around 14-17 minutes or even 20+ if you just hover about exploring in the back yard a stones throw away.
So for most people spending £109 on an extra battery or £218 on two when they are already getting up to an hour from the 3 they already have probably isn't worth it.
With my 4 batteries flying in manual I'm getting around 45-50 minutes which still isn't enough for me lol. On the other hand, concentrating that intensely for that long can also be very draining when flying batteries in succession! So I'm quite happy with 4, for now!

Billy Kyle has 10 batteries but flies commercially - everyone will have their limits depending on personal preference. 3 is typically the norm - especially as the hub holds 3.

For my Air 3 I like to keep 3 batteries in the hub and one in the drone and two extras in my bag.  

Always 4. It's a good amount. Drives me nuts having the charging cradle missing a battery, or an empty slot on the drone.  Plus, no matter what your solution or container, you will ALWAYS be able to have 4 batteries and fit it in the exact same space as 3.

I always buy ND filters + battery + RC screen cover/folded prop cover + fast charger + 2 SD cards, at the same time I get the drone. That like, "the base setup", IMO. You can add more, but i feel like this bundle has you covered for pretty much anything. Would be nice they actually sold a higher tier bundle like that, as a "complete kit" or "premium fly more combo" or something like that. The FMC seems nice, but honestly feel kinda lacking, and kinda incomplete, when you actually get into it

I get that - I've spent another £650 so far on extras on top of the fly more three batteries bundle and I'm not done yet. It will be a £2,000+ set up by the time I'm done!

but at the moment, i find the price a bit to high on the batteries.... so maybe later i'll get a 4th one.

Went out into the Highlands of Scotland to fly a wee bit. Took 3 drones (Mini 2, Mavic 2 Pro and Avata 2), 11 batteries and didn't deplete them all. Too many tourists getting in the way at the end. And that was me on the road at 5am!

If I'm running surveillance on the backside of my property or making several perimeter runs I can easily go through 4 batteries so usually the 5th is an emergency spare.  If I'm just out for a "sightseeing" or exploration flight I normally only go through 3 full batteries.  I kind of relate it to I never go anywhere without a spare tire for my truck when I'm on the road so I never go anywhere without spare batteries for the drones while out flying.  All the batteries are numbered and I cycle them through sequentially to keep the same amount of usage on each.

I didn't do that with my original Mini and I wore out one battery really quickly and had two barely used ones.  That was when I decided to rotate their use sequentially.

It's easy to repeat the use of one over the other. Batteries have an EOL of course and one too many charges leads to an early retirement for it

Well, the Mini batteries were cheap compared to the Air 2 batteries.

The Inspire TB48 were £200 each if I remember highly - I had 4 of those too! And they only lasted about 14 minutes!
