Hi!

I have a problem with the left stick.
I first noticed it in the Liftoff controller setup, then validated it with the controller calibration.
I have the throttle and yaw set to the left stick.
Moving the stick down from the center, it gives a 100% false signal to the left at 94% position. When tested in normal mode the drone does start to turn left (yaw).
In Manual mode it is not disturbing yet, because in that position the drone is barely getting any throttle. I say this without being an experienced FPV pilot. I suppose though, in flight, a full throttle cut-off while passing through this position can have minimal effect on flight and cause problems in more precise manoeuvres.
I tried to enter a request for the controller on the repair request page, but neither the products nor the serial number was accepted by the system.

If I recall correctly before I updated to the latest firmware for the drone and goggles (RC3 was active during the update), I had no such problem in the simulator either. This is just an observation, I know RC3 is not updated now.

Is it possible to do a factory reset on RC3?

Try doing gimbal calibration from the goggle menu under settings - control - remote controller. If that doesn't help, start a repair request for your Avata 2 and only send the controller in.

Thx, but I started the troubleshooting by recalibrating, but it didn't fix it.

One more question:
Is it possible to adjust the throttle so that the engine speed starts to rise more dynamically from a lower position?
I am uncomfortable that above the midpoint position there will only be enough power to climb as well as hover. Does adjusting the Yaw expo have any effect on this?

Hi there,
thank you for reaching out and we apologize for the unpleasant experience.

Just to confirm, have you tested with another controller? To see if the outcome is different.

Should you have any other questions, kindly message us. Thank you!

Thx Natalia!
I only have an MC3 controller other than RC3, which works perfectly, but I don't think that's relevant in this case.
Unfortunately I don't have the possibility to test with another controller.
I understand that the new RC3 controller sends the signal to the drone via goggles 3. As I wrote earlier, the RC 3 calibration through the glasses shows a false signal. However, the same error occurs when RC3 is connected directly to a PC, when the glasses are not involved in the communication.

Ok, but I can't find RC3 product on the repair request page. Should I select the Avata 2, as fichek suggested earlier, and just return the controller?
Do I have to pay the shipping costs if the product is under warranty?

Hi. As for your inquiry, you may proceed to create repair case via serial number for the controller. Since the issue is coming from controller, just send the controller for diagnosis and repair. Pertaining to the shipping fee, you do not need to pay shipping fees normally, but for international shipment, DJI does not cover international shipping and customs clearance fees. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a good day !

My problem is that I have tried entering the serial number in the product selector on the repair request page, but the page won't accept it, even though I enter the QR code number. Maybe I should write it in the error description if I choose the Avata 2 product?

Even if I type in the serial number, which I copied from the QR code, it won't accept it.

Hi there, thank you for the picture attached above. Since you're unable to submit the case by adding the remote controller's serial number, I would suggest trying to add your drone's serial number instead and then submitting the repair case.

If you're able to provide the drone's serial number, our team can use that information to look into the issue you're experiencing and work towards a resolution. Please feel free to go ahead and submit the case using the drone's serial number, and I'll make sure our team reviews it promptly.

Let me know if you have any other questions! I'm here to help get this repair request processed as smoothly as possible.

I bought the fpv RC 3 without a drone to practive on the simulator. Lately the right stick jerks left whenever i pitch up. It lasts for less than a second but it's enough the make the controller unusable. I've read the previous posts that say they couldn't submit the repair case without a drone. Please advise.

Since I bought the RC3 with the drone, DJI support suggested that I should mark the drone for repair and return only the controller. Repaired in 1 week. I think you should ask support how you can return the RC3 in such a case (purchase without drone).

Bonjour,

Then I returned just the RC3 which DJI replaced with a new one. However, after 2 months of average use, I noticed that even on this left stick, if I pull it down from the top, it throws a false left yaw again, but only up to about 15%. This is not yet a problem in flight. The interesting thing is that when I move the stick up from the bottom, the false left yaw command does not appear. Some kind of construction problem, or they could have gotten the wrong faulty potmeter series.

These don't have pots. They have magnets as they incorporate hall sensors.
Try this if you dare. Open the RC3 and look for the hall sensors... Sometimes I have found the magnet get loose and while in movement, they tend to slide their position. Push them hard to its original seat

The whole idea being, the magnets inside dislocate from their original position a bit because of not fixed properly or a loose mount. Try to push them back into their original place and it should solve the abnormal inputs on the sticks.

Thanks for the advice! I will definitely not try this until there is an official warranty for RC3.

RC3 only has screws to hold the body of the remote. Once you remove those screws, you will have to pry open the case with a plastic spudger. If done correctly, it won't leave any marks or an indication that it was opened for inspection. There are no warranty stickers or labels on the RC3 which you may break during disassembly.
There are many online videos on YouTube on how to properly do that. However, you need to be careful and with some experience. Better get it done from a mobile repair shop IF YOU MAY PLEASE.
