Most definitely. But aren't we all biased in one way or another? I know I'm biased towards my own school, my own religion, my state, my own country. That doesn't mean I hate other schools, churches, countries, etc. or try to shutdown commerce.

I mean from a US "security" perspective I'm sure the Chinese government can access any data on any drone at any time. Even the "offline" mode is still using satellites for positioning, no? Both my granddads fought in both World Wars and I'm curious to see what their view would be on this whole thing. Not having sacrificed life or limb for this country I feel that considerations on China accessing my data are very low. In fact, I could care less if the Chinese government is looking at what I'm shooting. It literally changes nothing. The same data is available from satellites they already have up in the atmosphere!

Oh, man. What a subject...from drones to politics. DJI does make the best drones on the planet. That's a no brainer. The cameras are the best, the technology is pretty damn great and I love their drone insurance...

Am I trying to stop the bill? No. Does it suck if the US government bans DJI? Yes. Is it wrong? I don't know. I just fly drones....

What can one expect from a country that elected Trump, a completely insane and highly corrupt and criminal freak, as president?
And maybe they will do it again.

When I read the "massive" concerns from DJI, here on the Forum, I also ask my self the question; Why! Im fully sure, that the US government, which have these concerns about DJI, has "build" it some background information, and not just because they dont like DJI.
There must be something laying deeper behind this step, which are on way.

We did see the same, some years ago, with Huawei, and all there Network equipment. Even that the Chinese Government denied it, it was a fact, that the equipment could send info back to China, hidden deeply inside the Chips software.

So to use an old proverb:  "There never comes smoke from something, without a Fire"

That’s pretty much the view of the world towards the US, a failed state which was brought about by Trump. And now this bs from their polititicans. Sounds very familiar to the Commies under your blankets in the 50s in the US.

And the US will enact this and Australia will blindly follow, but won’t stop me flying my drone.

That's the only reason USA went downhill!? That's incredible. I wish that were the case because then idiots like myself could just be taught the correct information and then the whole field would become uphill again!

You're right, I don't know how the satellite systems work but it wouldn't be a shocker to me if it's not only a GPS signal. I'm sure it doesn't take much more to add a few extra channels for other data. Again, you're right I don't know how the signals work but to have a group lobbying for the drones being paid for by the group? It's like Budweiser saying beer is good for you or Marlboro stating how cigarettes aren't bad for you health.

I honestly wish that the only problem was me being an idiot. Wouldn't that be  great!

What I want is an actual, non-biased opion that's not paid for by DJI, not full of bigoted opinions from the any government and from actual engineers who know how the system works.

As if Biden caused all of this. Trump was already on the path of trying to cancel Chinese "infiltration" when he was in office. He would likely do the same thing. The subject that's being addressed (right or wrong) is the subject of national security not democratic or republican ideologies.

Very True Morrisson. Is China monitoring? Sure they are, just like America is monitoring China and Europe And France and Germany and Ford and Tesla and all other connected cars and machines are monitoring you, so are Israel and Russia and India and Irak. The fact that your holiday photos, plus those of that other, plus others and so on, more telemetry data of millions of people (they know where they are flying), you build a database that you can't even imagine.
You could be an insignificant drop, but so many insignificant drops create an ocean.

Amen. But a database of vacations?

And all this stuff is already accessible from satellites.

Google Maps, a civilan allowed program practically allows you to see through people's windows. That's just a civilan program! Military satellites already have these databases. I don't really know what danger a drone is that a satellite is not.

I think that DJI has the best prosumer equipment on the market, and i really enjoy using their products. At the same time i understand the need to protect our country and the massive amount of data that it generates from DJI, TikTok or whatever foreign platform. Domestic companies do the same yes this is true but the US government could potentially access that data or control it in the event of "misuse".
Either way it get it.
I will have to buy another drone that is US based or approved. I believe this is the right move for our country as a whole.

Unfortunately,

Our Federal Government no longer serves the Will of the People, and hasn't for decades, but rather their own self-interests.

Petitioning our so-called 'representatives' will have little to no effect on the outcome of the bill.

We're completely beholden to the effectiveness of DJI's lobbying efforts...

I think DJI should slowly start manufacturing products in Canada,Europe, or even in the United States as that would make the United States “trust”them. A lot of their videos and tips on DJI.com are in Chinese and it’s not very easy to use as I don’t understand Chinese. Just a suggestion.

Hahaha, no! As you think I'm defending my country you completely misunderstand me. I'm simply saying I find it humorous that him thinking his country has a great track record is hilarious. Australia is one of the only countries where people weren't entirely stupid against other people. Germans were obviously HORRIBLE as most larger countries have been. Even worse than anything you've references or anyone might reference, my country, unfortunately, undermines most of the world with messages coming out of Hollywood. To me that's even worse than anything that's been done temporarily as it's destroying the social fabric of ALL societies worldwide...anyway.
