Hi there,

I have a critical problem with my Integra Goggles.
My setup is: DJI Goggles Integra + DJI O3 air unit (several)
All at the latest firmware.

At a random time mid flight I get a red error notification "battery temperature is too low" and after 2-3 secs goggles just shuts down leaving me with a black screen.
The problem is that outside temperature is around +15-25C.
It started recently (after a year of use of the goggles), and made the goggles basically unusable due high risk of loosing the quad during flight.

Is there a way to fix this problem or at least to investigate it further?

Thanks in advance.

Thank you for your inquiry. O3 air unit uses a third party battery, the battery temperature is detected by the third party flight control. not the O3 air unit. Please try to another battery. Do let us know if the issue still persists.

Hi Natalia,

It's not about O3 air unit as it works flawlessly without any issues.
It's the DJI goggles integra that shuts itself down during midflight due to error that doesn't make any sense (allegedly DJI Integra's battery has too low temperature at +15-25C outside).

It looks like the problem might be with the internal temperature sensor inside the Goggles Integra's battery. Or the text of the error is incorrect (maybe should say "temperature is too high" instead of "too low") because this issue started to occur only this summer (mainly when it's 20C+ outside).

Hi Natasha,

Just sent you personal message with all the logs and video (from the latest time when the problem occurred). Please let me know if everything is okay with the files that I shared.
Just in case, also attached here a screenshot of the error message itself (after which the goggles shut down) that I recorded on DVR from the location where I tried freestyle recently.

Really hope for your help! Thanks!

I have the exact same issue as Feel_fine. It’s exactly as he described it under the exact same conditions. Just happened to me in western Washington about 20 min ago for the first time. I had gps rescue enabled and working (in theory) but… didn’t have video so… yeah I don’t know if it actually worked.

Hi Joshua,

The support couldn't help me, but I resolved the problem myself.

In my case the cause was the wires that go from the battery to the goggles.
One of the wires (GND) has worn out and its resistance has increased which lead to communication errors between the battery and goggles. That was the reason why I randomly got errors about battery temperature.
I fixed it by replacing all 4 wires with my own and soldered them directly to the board on the battery side (and to the wires on the goggles side).

Clarified a bit the pinout on the battery side.
For data pins unfortunately don't remember which one is SDA and which one is SCL.

On the goggles side, you soldered the wires to the board it self? Or use the the plug that came with it?
What gauge of wire did you use?

My issue was the red wire, it was broken...

Hi,
On the battery's side - to the board itself.
On the googles side - to the plug connector (to the wires that go from a connector). In my case the plug's resistance was OK (low enough), so I decided not to bypass it and use the short ends of the wires that I left to solder new wires..

I used 26AWG (just to make the resistance as low as possible).
But I guess it should work just fine with 28AWG as well.

My integra's do the same thing  "goggle battery temperature too low" I have the goggles 2 and the goggles 3 the G3 are very skippy and lag when paired with the 03 I thought after that last update it would fix but still skips like it has to catch up. so, using G2 when I have brand new pair of G3's i would rather use integras over the G2 but now we have  "goggle battery temperature too low"

kind of funny how all integra's are doing this after 1 year of use. It sounds like a defect on the wires going to the battery. Can I bypass the battery and use another Power source all together? anyone?

Hi,

Replacing the cable completely solved the problem. Unfortunately, DJI does not provide a replacement for this 4-wire cable, so I had to make one myself.

After the repair, I used my Integra every day (until I switched to the G3 a few weeks ago). The goggles worked flawlessly. No errors, no disconnections, no nothing.

Hi,

Unfortunately, there is no way to bypass the battery. There is a temperature sensor on the battery board that needs to be read from the Goggles. If the main board in the Goggles cannot get a response from this sensor, the Goggles will not turn on.

So without a properly working battery board, the Goggles will not turn on and work properly.

So, The problem is at the battery side of things are do you have to pry open the battery and the goggles and completely replace the wires? I'm pretty good with soldering. is it posable just to open the battery side and resolder the wires?

Hi,

As I described early in this topic, the problem is in the wires themselves. They wear out. Their resistance increases (especially the power wires pair) and this affects the communication between the main board in the googles and the temp sensor on the battery side.

Solution is to disassemble battery and the googles (to get access to the cable connectors) and replace the cable with your own.
In my case, just to be sure, I soldered new wires directly to the battery board (there are some pads) on the battery side. On the googles side I soldered new wires to the old connector with some remaining old wires on it (after I made sure the resistance of the connector itself is OK).

You can read all the details above in this thread.

I'm just not sure what is wrong with any of the wires or soldering. looks tidy to me.. what am I missing? apparently this is happening to everyone's goggles about a year in. That's if your using them a lot in that year.
We should be able to pin point it to one issue..,.

For the third time, I guess..

It's not the contacts. It's not the connectors. The wire itself is wearing out. Most likely somewhere in the middle (where it bends several times) inside the fabric strap.
You can check it yourself simply by measuring the resistance of the each wire (with a multimeter) between the battery's and googles' connectors

Hey everyone. I just got a pair of Integra goggles. They turned on and operated normally until I updated the firmware to v01.06.0000 At that point I started to get the same error as the original poster, low battery level, and battery temperature too low. Then the goggles shut themselves down quickly after. The battery level shows at least 99%, however. The ambient temperature is also not cold at all.

I would try to revert the firmware back to an older version, but the goggles do not stay powered long enough for that. The only way I am able to turn on the goggles is if a USB C cable is connected to a computer from the goggles. They do not power on any other time. They do not power on or charge with a regular USB C power outlet. Instead when the power button is pressed, a single green light flashes 3 times and nothing else.

I am not sure anyone actually provided a fix for this, not including tearing the battery compartment open and doing electronics works which is ridiculous and should not have to be solution.
