Before the X5R comes out ;) -- Unless I'm paid to shoot something in the meantime, my inspire is going on the shelf until I can get my hands on the X5R as I know I'm going to want to reshoot everything in 4K Raw.
Anyways here is my Demo Reel pushing the X3 image to the limits in the grade. Not much you can do...
Let me know what you think.... AND turn it up loud!

Thanks everyone - I wish DJI would release some sample footage of both the X5 + X5R so we know what we can expect especially when the price point for the X5R is rumored to be $5Kish.

Thank you - Yes everything except for the Range Rover tracking shot and spanish house which were shot on a GH3 (before the GH4 was out) + S900. Those were scaled up to UHD timeline. I've never shot a single video clip in 1080 on the X3 Camera lol.

I know it will be hard to part with the better part of 5K... but it is as good as the specs I would say at least you will do good by it! I am still working on it :-)

On another note what is your workflow if you don't mind sharing... the reason i ask is because I have mostly used Adobe and sort of am dabbling in Davinci right now...

Impressive work! Great angles, motion and grading, some shots a tad too sharp (talking more about the unpleasant X3 sharpness). This is among best work I've seen that came off the X3 camera - great job!

Thank you - a lot of the footage is prior to the firmware slightly fixing the over-sharpness. The image tends to only look good (IMHO) when moving slow with low detailed scenes.

I can't wait for a real camera sensor to pair up with my RED for ground footage.

Import native files to External RAID
Import into folder in FCPX
Create Timeline in 23.98 at 3840 x 2160 (typically)
Drop first clip on timeline
Drop Audio tied to first clip
Rough Edit making sure to conform clips that were shot at different frame rates so there is no loss of frames (i.e. 30fps clips on a 23.98 timeline will be choppy)
Export timeline in h.264 as a rough first cut to desktop to view in full resolution watching for errors and timing.
Export .XML to Davinci Resolve
Grade using a custom LUT which is a rec709 to LOG conversion (this gets me to an even flatter picture than the LOG setting I shoot with)
Grade
Roundtrip back into FCPx
Add transitions, titles, sound FX etc.
Master Render in Apple ProRes Proxy (anything larger won't upload to Youtube/Vimeo on Plus Accounts)

Unlike a lot of other people in the photo/film hobby/industry, I have no qualms about sharing my workflow or how I arrive at a final "look" - Nothing secretive here. I am not an expert by any means but as I stared out, few people would ever offer to help or lend advise even when I asked them simple questions about technique. It frustrated me but it is what it is. Some people just don't care to help. So I was forced to learn on my own.

I love helping + passing what I've learned on to others to help them too grow and get better.

Thanks again... trust me I am a chef / owner by trade and remember the days I had to steal techniques and recipes... lol, now I train and share as much as I can as there is no value in knowledge if you keep it to yourself in my eyes, so i know where you are coming from and commend you and every one on this forum that shares and helps. Hopefully one day I can return the favor and the wheel keeps going...
To me this is why these forums are here not to only bitch and moan but to learn and create friendships and better the art of photography, video and a great hobby...
I mean this would be a negative forum if not for people like you Jim , DJI Dave and many more... this is actually turning out to be quite the community and I am glad I am part of it a lot of talent out there!

Two thinga I noticed on my phone (Android Nexus 6) that I did not notice on my desktop were that there's a one pixel gap between your lower CinemaScope bar and the edge of the screen through which I can see footage.   Also there's the pixel bar on the right side of the screen has an issue as well.  I wonder why neither showed up on my desktop.   Hope this helps.

Thanks LUC. I think that's the main point of these forums is to share knowledge and not turn it into a platform for us all to complain about DJI. I have agreed in the past that DJI customer service needs some help but they're getting better in my opinion as I've learned from personal experiences.

Anyways - keep on shooting and I can't wait to see what you guys all share.
