Hi,

No, it's not suitable at all and it's not an acceptable answer.
I'm not moving the product, I'm moving MY TABLET.

So the UI has to stay as I need, and not do as DJI think it is better for me....

Please understand that, we, filmakers, need to lock the screen just because, as creatives, we are sometimes forced to bend ourselves and the screen has to stay in place !
Is it so difficult to understand ? I thought DJI was serious but I'm not sure anymore.

Above this, as users, WE decide to lock features.
But maybe DJI is trespassing other of our permissions on our devices ?....
DJI seems not to as safe as I thought.

Do I have to send these informations to some youtubers who will be glad to here it for shure ?

as written here :  https://forum.dji.com/forum.php? ... =310203&pid=3283383
"DJI Mimo will directly call the mobile phone sensor data to identify the orientation and will not be affected by the mobile phone’s “orientation lock” or “auto rotation” settings."

This is not acceptable. You have to change this behaviour.
It's OUR device, not a DJI one.
User choice has not to be trespassed !

Please kindly understand that us, professionals, are loosing a precious time.

My way to react is unfortunatelly based on many experiences in this forum where I read so many times this kindly formated answer.
We, users, have asked and asked and asked again some features but we have rarely been listened. Dji is the master when it concerns their products, it's alright.

But this time DJI is going too far by trespassing what the user have decided to do on it's own material which don't belong to DJI. Is it so difficult to understand that you need hawk eyes to see everything on the tiny screen of the OP3 ? So we MUST use Mimo app to profit all the potential your wonderful tool offers.

I'm sure you're a kind person and I have nothing against you, but please understand our anger.

Stop taking us for a ride because we are exhausted.

Users are reporting this for some time now -> https://forum.dji.com/thread-307436-1-1.html
But DJI don't do anything.
It's a so ridiculous thing to correct that can be made in 5 minutes in one hand and drinking a coffee with the other one.

For iOS, you certainly did something like this (in swift)

  1. import CoreMotion

  2. let motionManager = CMMotionManager()

  3. func startMonitoringDeviceOrientation() {
  4.     if motionManager.isDeviceMotionAvailable {
  5.         motionManager.deviceMotionUpdateInterval = 0.1
  6.         motionManager.startDeviceMotionUpdates(to: .main) { (data, error) in
  7.             if let attitude = data?.attitude {
  8.                 // Use attitude.pitch and attitude.roll to determine orientation
  9.                 // Update your UI accordingly
  10.             }
  11.         }
  12.     }
  13. }
Copy the code
Apple will surely be happy to be informed that DJI found a way to override the system-wide orientation lock.

Hi DaGickXx, we understand your concern and hope that the app could be more user-friendly. For some products, the UI display orientation is not compatible with specific mobile phone orientations. This issue is not a bug but a special design for the UI adaptive display orientation. It is based on the product usage scenarios to make it more suitable for product usage.

We have acknowledged your feedback and forwarded it to our relevant team for review and evaluation. All significant suggestions will be implemented after the evaluation of our relevant team. For the latest updates please stay tuned to our DJI official website at ( www.dji.com ). Thank you for your understanding and support.

Thor, I know all that but it's an issue for a lot of us.
If we decide the UI must stay in landscape, it has to stay, basta.

The UI has not to turn around if it need to be landscape ( for example). Simple scenario to make you understand :
you use FPV mode and the tablet is attached to the osmo pocket. If we turn slowly all the set, we turn the head too, for being into the action. So, if this freaking UI is turning back, first we got turn back our head too and secondly, the monitor becomes ridiculously little.
If the user decide which mode the UI has to stay because he knows what is the best mode to shoot, the ui don't have to turn on it's own.
At least put a little option to avoid this unwanted behaviour, which you consider as normal, but wich us, customers consider as a bug for more than a year now !

I completely empathize with your perspective. The necessity for each process/ system to evolve over time in order to furnish our users with a more user-friendly interface. Your concern has been duly communicated to our engineering team for their attention. We appreciate your understanding and patience in this matter.

Dear Thor,
There is (almost) no problem with the interface, it's an issue information as the Mimo app is useless 60% of the time.  DJI don't let other company to develop other apps. So we are stuck with you.
In our company we are faithful to DJI products since the F450 Drone !
Do we have to move to other companies like GoPro or Insta360 for our cameras ?
Please understand how it can be a benefit for DJI to finally correct something reported for more than a year by many.

Thank you for your feedback. Currently, in order to achieve the consistency of horizontal and vertical image transmission between the camera and the mobile phone, the app is not restricted by the system vertical screen lock switch. However, the engineers have understood your request. Since there are many coupled logic on this page, the image transmission rotation solution will be re-sorted to solve the problem you reported. Please wait patiently and pay attention to the official website update. (We will inform you as soon as the subsequent problems are optimized.)
