I flew a lot on DJI Avata 1. It crashed into rocks, fell from the height of trees onto the asphalt, crashed head-on into metal structures. The worst thing that happened: I changed the upper and lower frames and flew on. But this is what happened to my DJI Avata 2 after one collision...
In the photo I showed the direction of the impact with a blue arrow. And the red arrow indicated IMPORTANT damage, which should not have broken.
The impact fell on the right side of the frame. The top frame was broken, the right bumper was bent, and the bumper pressed on the camera. This caused damage to the camera damper mounting. You can also notice how much the top dark GPS cover is bent.
As I understand it, the impact energy was distributed throughout the entire copter, causing distortion of the plastic. This is not good at all, because any displacement of the plastic can break the fragile textolite boards inside.
Based on FatDrone (DJI FPV Drone) experience, I highly recommend installing a protective bumper on DJI Avata 2.
In fairness, I have to show you the second crash, but this time of my other copter.
Here the impact hit the top of the bumper. The avata fell onto the lower frame and rolled a little on the upper one. There was no damage, even the UV filter survived. Even though it flew out of its mount.
