Is it normal for the videos taken with the P2V to come out at 1280 x 960?
When I saw these shot video in 1080p I assumed they meant 1920 x 1080.
Please forgive me for I am a noob.

It's normal when it's set for that.  I suggest you download a copy of the Phantom_2_Vision_User_Manual_v1.6_en.pdf has lots of good information like this:

"Best" is kind of subjective, isn't it?  I tried a variety of different setting and while the resolution is great displayed on my 32" screen the fisheye distortion on some of the setting is more than I like.  From the chart you can see there are three different Field of View options with the 1920 x 1080 resolution -- so, which one would YOU consider best?  Only way to know is make some test flights like I've done and judge for yourself.

Thanks gil. I set mine to 1920 x 1080p when I first set things up but for some reason it defaulted to 1280 x 960. Since my initial set up I have re-binded the camera and phone so that probably had something to do with it. I will go in and reset the resolution.
