Hello,

I found a very cool addition to my Air 3 - DJI Cellular Dongle 2.
Will this product work in the EU, specifically Poland?
I found information that the product has two versions and is limited to certain markets.

Hi there,

Yes, the DJI Cellular Dongle 2 is supported in Poland. DJI Air 3 is only compatible with DJI Cellular Dongle 2 at the moment.

https://store.dji.com/ee/product/dji-cellular-2?vid=143511&from=pc-cart-title

It offers stable high-speed connectivity services, allowing you to experience multiple features like Enhanced Transmission.
With the purchase of the Cellular Dongle 2, enjoy a complimentary one-year Enhanced Transmission service subscription.

3. After having an active Enhanced Transmission service for one year, please follow the in-app instructions to subscribe for continued access, if needed.

4. DJI reserves the right to terminate the Enhanced Transmission service at any time in compliance with local laws and regulations. Termination of this service will not affect other connectivity functions of the Cellular Dongle 2.

I thinkt that Cellular Dongle 2 is available and supported in all EU - please confirm.

What is the price for next year subscription (cannot find it in store)?

Subscription is needed only for "Enhanced Transmission service"
What are the multiple "other connectivity functions" which work without subscription?

Hi there,

The DJI Cellular Dongle has not officially started to support in Brazil. The fact that it could be used before might have been due to internal testing. After the testing period ended, it became unusable.

Hi Natalia,

Vodafone and Orange, also Telekom here, have same standards as in rest of Europe, supporting TD and also both comm.
So what tests? We talk about not including Romania as a country where DJI goods can be dispatched by DHL, even if WE HAVE DHL and all rest of shipping companies, we talk about an intended DISCRIMINATION of a country !

Thank you!

Hi there,

Thank you for sharing, Yes, DJI Cellular Dongle 2 support DJI Mini 4 Pro via the mounting kit includes a 4G antenna and antenna connectors. If you connect DJI Cellular Dongle 2 without using the kit, the signal for the DJI Cellular Dongle 2 will be weak and easily to be disconnected.

If you have any further questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact our support team. Thank You!

Can someone answer some really stupid questions please? The dongle obviously requires a micro sim for 4g connectivity. My own experience of sim cards is that they are bought inactive and require an activation signal from whichever service provider they are bought from. With the micro sim inserted in the dongle and the dongle inserted in the Air 3 how do I activate the sim? Also I expect the dongle to have a power requirement which is taken from the drone battery. Does anybody know roughly how much battery is required for the dongle and what is the sacrifice in terms of flight time? Finally if the dongle is fitted and working but the signal strength from RC2 to Air 3 is strong enough that no 4g service is needed is there still a reduction in drone flight time?

Hi,

I bought a SIM card, insert it my phone and no need to activate as it made the connection to the netwerk immediately.
Insert this sim card in the dongle, direct a dongle green light to indicate the 4G connection.

I did not notice a reduction in flight time, so there is ofcourse a reduction (powered by drone batt) in flight time, but how much i don`t know.
Dongle is powered whole flight, so don`t think flying on occusync only makes any difference in reducing flight time.

cheers
JJB

It does need Data to work. The green light on solid is showing that it has a $G connection to the network. My plan is uncapped so I don't really know how much data it actually uses but you can try loading 1Gig and see how long it lasts,

For one flight with a MINI4pro about 800mb data on the dongle-sim, less on the hotspot phone connected to the RC.

To all of you kind enough to reply, thank you ever so much. My post was my first post on here and I am still finding my way round and didn't know whether anyone would even reply. The suggestion that there is no largely noticeable loss of flight time I find particularly encouraging. I think that going for an unlimited data plan might be the way to go for me. My thinking on this is that if the nano sim runs out of data I cannot see any way of adding data to the sim short of removing it and inserting it into a mobile phone and then transferring it back into the dongle. The screws which hold the cover in place are really small and the plastic is quite thin. I would be a little uncomfortable having to repeatedly remove the cover, dongle and nano sim every time I needed to add data. I would hate to damage anything. I will shop round the mobile phone companies over the next couple of days and see what is currently on offer as regards an unlimited data plan. If anybody in the UK wants to know who I find to appear most reasonable then please post on here and I will let you know. The silly thing is about all of this is that I don't currently have many issues with signal loss. It is largely just a case of monkey see monkey want. This sums me up rather too perfectly.

Hi there,

There is no built-in battery in DJI Cellular Dongle or DJI Cellular Dongle 2. For activation date you can find the serial number on the back of DJI Cellular Dongle, which is displayed as IMEI code. Please input the complete IMEI code on the Device Info Inquiry page to check the activation date.

I hope this information has helped to clarify your inquiries. If you have any other questions, kindly let us know. Thank You!

Sorry, I think my question was a little bit unclear. I was not enquiring about activation of the dongle. I was enquiring about activating the nano sim once it is inserted in the dongle and the dongle is inserted in the drone. It has been suggested that putting the nano sim into a mobile phone and then activating it before removing it from the phone and fitting it in the dongle might be the most appropriate way to go and this does make logical sense to me. Many thanks for your reply and of course for trying to assist me.

Hello all, I have done the obligatory trawl through the darling mobile phone service providers and found that EE have a 'limited time deal' and are offering an unlimited data nano sim for £16.00 per month. The downside of this, at least for me is that EE are part of BT and I can't abide BT as a company. Another option is a O2 who are offering a nano sim with 120gb of data for a cost of £50.00 The card is only good for 12 months usage and then is dead. There are of course other companies but after a while they all just seem to merge into one homogeneous blob and I got the mother of all headaches. None of these others particularly stood out or I would have course have listed them.

Hi.

Could you please explain what this DJI advertising sentence means, exactly?

Hi there, thank you for reaching out. DJI Cellular Dongle Enhanced Transmission combines traditional OcuSync transmission and 4G automatic enhancement technologies. When the traditional OcuSync transmission signal is strong, the 4G link maintains a basic connection but does not activate 4G for data transmission in order to maximize high-quality, low-latency experience while reducing data usage. When the OcuSync transmission encounters signal interferences, obstructions, or long-distance scenarios, DJI Cellular Dongle enables 4G network for data transmission automatically, which is called a enhanced transmission phase. When the OcuSync transmission is completely disconnected, the data transmissions rely on 4G network entirely for images from the drone to the ground, as well as commands from the ground to the drone.

By purchasing DJI Cellular Dongle 2, you'll get this service subscribed for free for a year.

Hope this clarifies your question. Thank you!

Hi,

My drone (Air 3) is coming with DJI Care Express servicew. Is it possible to install the Cellular Dongle 2 on it at the same time. The drone is so damaged that it needs to be replaced. I would assume so, as the gimbal is almost gone and the wing mount is broken.

Is it still possible to use the Cellural Dongle 2 in Finland.

I hope Im not speaking out of turn but you will need a 4g nano sim card from one of the mobile phone providers. I am unclear about how much data is needed for a single flight but have read from a couple of different people who suggest that a 'standard flight' will typically use around about 800mb. I dont know what the trade off is in terms of data requirement when the drone switches between OS4 and 4g. I am approaching the concept using 800mb per flight as a guide to allow me to calculate my data requirements. Another user in this thread has suggested that he uses an uncapped data plan and to be perfectly honest this seems like the most logical option. If you are in the UK there is a limited time offer from EE at £16.00 per month for 24 months. The next best option I was able to find was a card from O2 with 120gb preloaded that was only good for 12 months and then the card expires. I think it best to assess your own requirements closely to avoid throwing money at mobile phone companies

Hi DJI Natalia

Are there plans to make Cellular Dongle comaptible with Mavic 3 PRO? Does the compatibility mean using additional mounting kit (to the drone) only? Perhaps the dongle itself supports Mavic 3 already? I read many stories on the net with people claiming it actually works...  And if there are plans to make it compatible (with Mavic 3 series), whihc dongle would be the one to go for, Dongle, or Dongle 2 ?

The dongle that works with the OG Mavic 3 works with the Mavic 3 Pro has well. The V2 Dongle would not work on the Mavic 3 because of the different Frequency. The V1 uses OS3 because of Mavic 3 and the V2 dongle uses OS4 because of Air 3 and Mini 4 so not backwards compatible.

Hi there,

For optimal performance with the DJI Cellular Dongle 2, ensure your DJI Air 3 is functioning properly. If you suspect any issues, prioritize sending your aircraft in for repair before using the dongle.

Finland is included in the initial list of supported countries for the DJI Cellular Dongle 2. This means you can use it without any problems.

I hope this information has helped to clarify your inquiries. If you have any other questions, kindly let us know. Thank You!
