Something strange happened today.
While connecting my RC Pro to my Mavic 3 Pro, I received a red message saying that flight was impossible and that I needed to upgrade the firmware to a newer version.
But I always followed the newest firmware and knew no new version was available. When I connected the drone to the Dji companion, I got the message that specific modules were out of sync and that I had to upgrade these. But that is strange. I did not upgrade any firmware on the controller or the drone. That message can only come if a newer version of a module exists.
So I have some questions.
1. Where can I find the versions of the different modules installed on the drone? And are there different version incompatibilities?
2. How can it be possible that there is no new version but that a module has to be installed? That is a new version, right?
3. Why is it possible to halt flying when an incompatible module is spotted? Yesterday, it flew completely okay. If nothing's broken, why fix it?
I find this very untransparent. If module versions are part of a complete firmware package, tell me. If there is an incompatibility, tell me also. And tell me why I need to upgrade something. Give me release notes with version numbers.
DJI is already under a microscope. See what happened in the United States. Just provide transparency about why I need to upgrade modules that I did not know existed.
